villarule123 Posted November 8, 2013 VT Supporter Share Posted November 8, 2013 The Southampton situation shows that no matter how bad it can be, there's always a way out. Which worries me about what's happening to SHA.

Cliffy Biro
They'll hit their ceiling at some point, nothing like 1-2 half decent seasons to make fans big headed and bigger than everyone. Hell even the baggies think they are bigger than us because of 2 mid table finishes, let them enjoy it while it lasts.
Guest
Apparently they will put 6 past Villa next month. Same person as above.
heid3ster
I keep hearing predictions that Southamption will be top 10, maybe even top 8 this year? I don't see it myself. They've spent a lot but I'm not sure they've spent well. I'm predicting they'll struggle this year. But then, WTF do I know?

CarewsEyebrowDesigner
I think they'll spend again and kick on. They're quite enjoyable to watch so I don't mind them really.
R.I.C.O.
They have really rode their luck with injuries so far this season, I don't think they have had a single player out yet. When some of their key players start picking up injuries, lets see where they are then. Basically they are riding the huge crest of a wave with the form of Lallana, Lambert and Shaw at the moment, but as soon as one or two of those players picks up an injury, I reckon they will start to struggle as outside their first XI, they are short on quality. LondonLax
They have quite a good sized squad and have spent a lot of money but have spent well. That makes me think they are not as much of a flash in the pan, they won't finish third obviously but they are a good shout for 6th or 7th. vandaq
I like many of their players at the moment, cool team to watch. Shame about the fans though, but not really surprising. Maybe top 8 if they keep going, sure looks like it. Osvaldo at top is a little bit concerning

Popular Post The_Rev
I'm not as down on Southampton as this post might sound, but the fixture list has been quite kind to them so far. They have had great results at Anfield and Old Trafford but they have faced a lot of shit too. Their results this season: beat West Brom (currently 9th, but had an awful start to the season) drew with Sunderland (currently 19th) lost to Norwich (currently 15th) drew with West Ham (currently 16th) beat Liverpool (currently 2nd) beat Palace (currently 20th) beat Swansea (currently 14th) drew with Man Utd (currently 8th) beat Fulham (currently 17th) drew with Stoke (currently 18th) beat Hull (currently 12th) So with almost a third of the season played they have played the teams who currently sit 20th, 19th, 18th, 17th, 16th, 15th, 14th & 12th. That's a lot of bottom half sides. On the other hand we have played the teams who currently sit 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, 6th & 7th.

Dr_Pangloss
They've had a very kind fixture list and have spent shit loads of money, they'll eventually slip away.
VillaChris
They will but still a top 10 standard team. 4 points at Anfield and Old Trafford after all. 3 of their next four are Chelsea and Arsenal away and Man. City at home so they will stop winning I'd imagine. Oh and us at home aswell.
Dr_Pangloss
If they spend £50m this season (which is possible given the rumours of a jan war-chest) then getting into the top 10 is really not a great achievement at all. AvfcTheObsession
This season's West Brom. Will be great up until Xmas time, tail off in the second half of the campaign and finish about 8th/9th. No way I can see them coming above any of: Man U Man city Chelsea Arsenal Spurs Liverpool Everton
