Looks like Man Utd want to sort out their CB problem.

reported £12 million bid for Porto's Nicolas Otamendi. Argentinian, 25 years old, described as aggressive but not particularly quick.

however, perhaps showing how far they have fallen, Man City seem to have first dibs on the better of Porto's central defenders, Eliquiam Mangala.

not only that, if his £41 million release clause is triggered, the Man Utd deal could be off. so not only would Utd not be getting a second-rate but badly-needed new CB, they won't be getting one at all while Man City gets the best of the next generation.

Haha you are quite the character!

Are you actually referring to Goal.com as your only source for this nonsense?

United have Vidic and Evans as their first-pick nowadays, whilst Jones is playing a little bit up the pitch. I think for next season they will start to play Jones at the back, he is some talent at only 21 years old. Younger than Nathan Baker. Then you have Smalling and Ferdinand behind these guys, although Rio is pretty much finished at his age.

Vidic, Evans, Jones and Smalling is fairly good IMO, but of course they will bring in someone with top quality when they can. This is not going to be Ottamendi, why on earth do you mention stupid rumors like this - most likely made up by a 15 year old kid?

Oh dear, he has taken last seasons champions to 7th place with a gap that could be 9 points from 4th if Liverpool win tomorrow.

Oh and he broke another record today, Stoke have beaten United in the league for the first time since boxing day 1984.

£37.1 million Juan Mata gets 1 assist and an incredible 5 tackles today.  Put himself about a bit, what? Unfortunately his team lost away at Stoke.*

Man Utd CB weakness now getting exposed badly. I said this would happen.

*Meanwhile Jay Rodriguez hits double figures for goals, scoring one for Southampton. Also got 3 tackles during the game. Remarkable player. 10 goals, 3 assists for the season.

Evening lads, Papillion can't post tonight for some reason so he's kindly given me permission to post them by PM. Here it is*: ;)

"What we saw today was the most unjust result in premier league history. How is it a team can only be given 13 minutes injury time to score a goal, it should've been double. Minimum. The team were also forced to play in inhumane conditions in an inhumane city. Infact the game should've been cancelled according to the Beaufort scale and the 3 points awarded to United without them even turning up. It's completely different to that Idiot Aston team who lost heavily at the Britannia just days before xmas in a gentle breeze. What losers they are!

United will stroll 4th, don't forget Liverpool are only 6/7/9/10 (with goal difference) ahead, with the problems United have had they should at least be 30 points clear. Let's remember Rooney and RVP have been missing 90% of the season while Suarez and Sturridge have played every single minute of league action. All it will take is Liverpool to start playing terrible players like Jordan Henderson and Skrtel and Liverpool will lose every game from now on.

David Moyes has many great qualities, we saw this at Everton with his regular 10 wins out of 14 games winning runs so not a problem at all this current blip."

Love Paps. *O.k I made all that up! :D

Man United have kept two clean sheets this season, one against us.

Actually, seven. Not sure what you are thinking of with that stat.

However, they are relying more and more on scoring goals to win games rather than a good defence. That only ends in mid-table or worse.

Behind every great team is a world class performing centre-back. Man Utd don't have one.

Man Utd have conceded 29 goals and well on the way to exceeding the 43 they let in last year. Needs to be below 35 goals conceded over whole season for a good chance at either winning the Premier League title or being runner-up.
