_AA_786
Spending half a billion and still not getting CL football Buying Anthony for >£80m when you're bidding against yourself Buying Onana for £40-60m (whatever it is with all the add ons) when you had De Gea who you could simply give a new contract to Inability to have a playing style or preferred XI after multiple years Anyone one of those alone could get you sacked so to have all 4, I think he's on more than borrowed time. Add in other anomalies like the handling of Maguire, singing Tyrell Malacia for £15m who is either supposedly in hiding from being a witness in the Quincy Promes case or is injured from some wierdly long hamstring injury (but even when he played was dog****) and you really have to question his judgement. Put him out of his misery and get Southgate please Also makes you think... Thank god for Unai!

It's up to Unai to come up with a plan to beat them, surely he can outsmart the man with no plan? If we play like we did against Ipswich, they have the players to hurt us on the counter. Genie
Bruno is their main source of danger and with him missing we really ought to be winning. We played Hojlund into form last time so let’s hope it doesn’t happen again.

Not sticking our defence on the halfway line would be a good start as they always just ping a diagonal ball over the top for one of their runners to get through. Beyond that Spurs showed the template, actually RUN at them instead of just checking back and waiting five minutes to get a cross in. Also based on last few weeks don't start Diego Carlos as he will gift them a goal at some stage. I think we'll beat them. The two games last year will really have stung us. Think it will be more similar to Unai's first match.

Even under Unai when we beat them first game, he’s still lost the next 4 against them in all competitions. It shouldn’t be ‘lads, it’s spurs’, it should be ‘lads, it’s Villa’ the hold they have over us. We need to start beating them consistently. It’s obviously a psychological thing but our record against them has to change, they are not very good, we can’t be dropping points to teams like Man Utd at home in all honesty. I don’t care about the name, they aren’t a great side any more and are there for the taking. We’re already 3 points down this season on equivalent games from last season, United won this fixture last season, so a great opportunity to beat them and get it back to par if we’re aiming for 70 odd points again this season. You don't become an elite coach without believing you have something special about you to turn around massive clubs. I think Emery has probably had his fill of dysfunctional mega clubs though. Agree Emery won't be interested; there's the Arsenal experience, there's the fact everything is set up for him here with exactly the backroom staff and set-up he feels comfortable with, and there's the reality that we frankly have better players than they do at this point. I think that's not true about PSR though; my understanding is their position will improve substantially next season and they'll have quite a lot of headroom to spend.
