Pinebro
I think Ten Hag thought he stumbled upon something in the FA cup final which was basically a deep backline and hit you on the counter. It seems like they are trying to play the same way based on their first 2 games. Indication that he is still looking for the right style of play which is not a good look. He's decent as long as you don't ask him to receive the ball in midfield, pass with any sort of purpose, turn with it, run with it, or tackle. villa4europe
He's their Hutton He's not good enough but he's somehow got this elevated position amongst the fan base because at least he rocks up and tries making him one of their better players, he shows their decline They also don't have the depth to sell him

He let's people run past him for fun, hides from ball and then wallops someone to show his pashun. You're right. He is Hutton. Genuinely dreadful.

He's even poor at tracking back, I remember seeing a few examples of teams scoring on the counter attack and him not bothering. Even though he has a reputation for caring more about the club. Did he have Quincy Promes? He likes giving scumbags a boost up.
villa89
Due to their excellent negotiating skills they've managed to sign Ugarte, who joined PSG for €60m and flopped, for ...you've guessed it... €60m. Geniuses.

VillaChris
Don't get the Sterling signing at all. He's past his best, coming up to 30 (so they surely won't give him a 4 year deal at end of his loan....) and they really don't need him given he won't play central with Fernandes there and Garnacho isn't even starting games currently. Playing him as a false 9 sounds a good idea until you actually remember what his one on one finishing is like. He'll make as much impact for them as Mount has which was another odd signing. If this is the best INEOS can really come up with after their mass auditing and endless boardroom appointments we don't have much to worry about for the coming seasons. Could easily be another season where they struggle to even finish 6th.

But they stopped people working at home and sacked a majority of the office staff, which in the eyes of most of the media and their deluded fanbase in this country means that United are on their way back. Which is part of the issue United have, they are playing the biggest earners rather than best performers. This is the difference between top managers and the rest. Separating the cost from the form. Play your best players regardless of the wages. It’s a false economy stating players like Rashford, his lack of effort is contagious. If Rashford was on £10k/w he’d be nowhere near the starting 11.
Genie
McTominay is the 4th biggest sale United have ever done, that’s pretty astonishing Cristiano Ronaldo: £80 million Romelu Lukaku: £73 million Angel di Maria: £44 million Scott McTominay: £25.4 million 1
