As has been said - Man Utd are poor at at the back and lack a lot in midfield - thats not Ronaldo's fault. If they had better players there, he'd probably score more! Strikers thrive on service. This Man Utd team is probably the worst team he has played in for 15 years!

They have exactly the same team as last season but with Ronaldo, Varane and Sancho added

After 29 games last season, they were 2nd having scored 56 goals. This season, having strengthened their attack, they’re 5th having scored 48 goals.

That’s not Ronaldo’s fault either - he was the wrong signing to make - but he hasn’t done anything to make Man Utd better, and the team hasn’t lost anyone from last season.

It's interesting what they'll do upfront under the next manager.

Cavani is obviously off, Ronaldo I reckon will be aswell if they're in europa as that hits his legacy (even if he stays he surely won't play as much given he'll be 38) and add in Martial out on loan and disinterested, Rashford no good anymore and you know who going to prison fc perhaps.

They have Elanga who looks decent....but so did Januazj a decade ago and now he's a squad player for top 6 la liga team.

So currently they have no long term CF and aside from Sancho who's starting to improve no hang yer hat on wide player like say Arsenal with Saka and Smith Rowe who'd both walk into this United team.

Add in all their regular back 4 being complete s*** and their CM needing to be restructured and I'm not sure how they're going to do it given their budget will apparently will be reduced with no CL income.

Think it will be another season on the fringes although perhaps not qualifying for any euro competition and just playing once a week for half the season will benefit them like Arsenal and Chelsea in the past.

Ronaldo is an excellent player, that could do a great job in any team in the world. And probably will do for the next 2 seasons.

He just plays in a broken team.

He’s part of why that team is broken.

For a start him being in the team forces their best player (by far) too deep to be as influential as he should be

The defence is also a lot worse than last season, they have nearly conceded more than they did all of last season. Any United fan will tell you De Gea will win player of the season

Said before many many others are more to blame for United being shit. Maguire, McTominay, Shaw, Rashford{this is a guy who gets zero criticism}

Can't help but feel that Grealish at Utd and Ronaldo at City would've been a much better fit for both teams.

United's main problem is their recruitment - a big name seems to be the guiding principle - they need to go out and get the half a dozen "solid citizens" that will let those big names play - but they never do, they go out and get the biggest names they can find as a way to maintain their relevance. This United would never have signed a Dennis Irwin or a Solskjaer or a Bruce.

Have to agree.

Grealish at Utd with no tactics or plan would be out of this world. He'd be one of the most famous players in the world.

Ronaldo would probably score 40 goals in all comps for City.

Me too, Grealish with the shackles off (as United don’t appear to have any obvious system) -> win

Ronaldo finishing the hundreds of chances City create -> win

I thought sancho was good the other night, their most likely to do something player

Him one side grealish the other would be very good

Maybe utds problem was they put their eggs in the Rashford and Greenwood basket and that's badly backfired

Rashford looked terrible again Tuesday, heads completely gone, he needs time off

United should try and get Tuchel out of Chelsea during the turmoil.

Destabilises a rival and improves them. Win/win.

Would United be allowed to buy his contract out? He would be sensible appointment so I dont see it happening

Good point. It may come down to how desperate it gets financially for Chelsea. They might allow him to leave “on a free” to get him off the wage bill if they get in serious trouble.

I'm actually not sure Ronaldo would've been that effective at Man. City bar tapping in the Sterling and Mahrez cut backs and giving them 0-1 wins at Palace. Ultimately Man. City are still doing very well and he may have disrupted their style of play in high intensity matches.

Grealish at Man. United would've been more logical yeah. Him on left with Sancho on right and Fernandes at number 10 and that's at least something you can build around for next few seasons.
