Muffin - Lancashire clearings in the woods

Nah a muffin in the bread roll stakes is a very specific thing that relates to the way it was cooked and all sorts, the full title is a Lancashire Bottom Oven Muffin

If someone offers me a cheese or bacon batch I will not be expecting a full loaf of bread 😁

Tell me you've never been to an artisan bakery in your life :D

Fairly sure the one by mine actually does a Jalapeño and mature cheddar sourdough batch on occasion and it is a loaf :D

If I heard someone refer to a bacon "muffin" or "barm", I think I'd just end the conversation there and walk away.

Roll is stupid, but tolerable.

Roll/bun - Southerners but universal enough to be a recognised term everywhere

Cobs - Brummie, black country and much of the East Midlands

Barmcake - Manc clearings in the woods

Bread cake - Yorkshire clearings in the woods

Muffin - Lancashire clearings in the woods

Batch - Coventry and Nuneaton clearings in the woods

Baps - Bewbies!

Don't forget stotties - Geordie clearings in the woods

Lancashire clearings call then Barms, not muffins. Least the ones round here do

It’s about as much fun as the “debate” of which side of the toilet roll the paper should fall 🙂

Depends if you sit down or stand up to wipe.

Oldham is not in Lancashire - Greater Manchester for ages now.

We don't accept these newfangled woke counties.

Birmingham is in Warwickshire. If it isn't, they'd better move that cricket ground out of Edgbaston.
