'Uptick'. What the hell was wrong with 'rise'?

You probably weren't looking for a real answer but is it the case that uptick refers specifically to a rise after a fall?

(It might not, I'm just sepculating)

After everything Rishi did to get inflation down too. I feel bad for him that big businesses are letting him down.

that's been a thing waaaay before Covid , there is a universe out there and for far too many people it revolves around them

busy door into a building  , no problem I'll stop in the middle of it and check my phone or have a conversation with someone

no car park space at the local convenience shop  , not a problem I'll just  create my own one by parking across this driveway  so I don't have to walk more than 80 feet , after all I'll only be a few minutes how dare you be so inconsiderate and want to leave your house

How to listen to my favourite music on holiday , no problem I'll just take this portable music player with large speakers and blast it out so that everyone on the beach has to listen to my shit bland generic choice in music

Work out in the gym , done my first set  now let me just sit on this machine and spend 10 mins on Instagram , before i do my second set of reps and then you can get on this machine that I'm hording

busy train , not for me with me  , I managed to find  4 seats for me and my bags

too many people are self absorbed assholes , they either literally don't seem to see what it is they are doing .. or they do know exactly what they are doing and are just words removed

Yep the stopping in doorways / pinch points has always been a thing and I’ve always said it’s probably worth some grant somewhere to work out why people do it.

Bottom of a busy escalator, there will be people that step off that escalator and stop, to assess the world. Busy shop with a narrow doorway, stop in the door to check phone and purse. One solitary car parked in a street, pull up directly opposite it to drop your mate off and have a little chat once they’ve got out.

There is one solution.

Spoiler

Flame throwers.

Flame throwers.

And another, stun guns, instant non fatal Compliance, just the small inconvenience of stepping over them.

This is a regular type conversation in this household, especially with food shopping.

"What flavour of X do you want?"

"Don't mind, the cheapest."

"A?"

"Yeah, A."

" Ohhh they've got B."

"A is fine"

"or you could try C."

"Nah A is okay I'm not too bothered."

"They've got D E F for X amount more."

**** me, I didn't care the first time.

It might just be me but since covid where has people's awareness of space gone too? When you walk around a town/city centre people are endlessly just stopping in the middle of the pavement, to look at their phones/having a think.

Nope. Pretty much been that way for years.

In the supermarket the other day a bloke was looking at items on a shelf, arm straight out behind him with his trolley lengthways on.

It was a strangely wide aisle so a pedestrian could actually squeeze past him just about, not a trolley though.

He either didn't take the hint or didn't notice when I put my feet against the base of one shelving unit and pushed my trolley against the shelf on the other side of the aisle stretching out at a 70° angle. Mrs Sidcow thought it was hilarious.  He just moved on.

I would add no one else was trying to get down to the aisle.

Talking about the world of today. Our trainee admin girl is leaving. Apparently, her and her mate are going to do TikTok full time? Said she can earn more money and work when she wants?

She's got real good career progression ahead of her here. I mean she's working admin at the moment, but it's the start of her training to be a digital marketing executive, she's only 20. It'll be great job in a couple of years, includes lots of travelling abroad too. Kids aye??

Is that code for porn/only fans?

Most OF models do tiktok to promote their OF pages.

(No I have never spent a penny on OF)

5k followers is… 9/10ths of sod all

There are really shit train spotting accounts on YouTube with 10 times that and I really am talking about really shit ones

Even 50k followers is hardly enough to make a pittance

She’s deluded

I have been going to St Annes for about 13 years, multiple times a year. Went up yesterday to give my dog a run on the beach and have a wander round. The first time in 13 years the tide was right in, I mean right up to the promenade, zero beach available. It may be like this daily, but even normally, for me, high tide means that its only a mile away. That pissed me off, and then the return on the motorway, yes, the M6 was closed so it took us 5 hours to do an hour and half journey.

If it's anything like Southport (which given it's location, you'd imagine it is), the high tide that reaches the promenade wall happens roughly once a year
