Rant incoming

So we planned a bit of a spring clean today, me and the Mrs have all day spare so said last night lets do the quarterly, chuck all the rubbish/old toys out and have a clean top to bottom. Mrs was trying to say Sunday is a rest day (which I hate by the way), but managed to convince her. So this morning I got up at 0830 had some breakfast, watched a bit of the commonwealth while a few comments on here and cracked on cleaning the cars, waiting for the Mrs to get up.

Mrs finally gets up at 1215 after chilling in bed with the lad, I didn't wake her, to prove a point, she makes breakfast has coffee, again I say nothing, then I say, are we cracking on today, she then says I need 1 more coffee, I mean who drinks 2 cups of coffee in the morning, they are not ******* tea cups either. The Mrs has now decided to call her mum on the phone, which she is still speaking to now.

The whole thing has come to a head, as I had 2 passes for VIP spa days at the Belfry last week, kind of a treat, courtesy of a client I work with, but my Mrs said she was too tired to go to, an said I didn't get them specially for her or pay for them so it didn't matter? All this and we are also having a kitchen extension done, which we cannot agree on anything about, kitchen style, floor tiles etc. I am constant hearing I'm tired, I haven't had the time, you do it, I think I need a holiday....................alone!

Sorry for the rant guys, but I had to speak on here, as I'm close to exploding.

Will she fit underneath the kitchen extension?

I was telling my Mrs the other night not to open the windows wide enough that someone could climb in. Low and behold I wake up in the middle of the night with the landing and lads windows wide open. I didn't want the grief 1400 in the morning so just went back to bed and told her to close them. I wake up again at 1500, with what I thought was one of those mahossive moths in the room (I so much hate them). Nearly pooing my pants I managed to turn the lights on and noticed it was a bloody little bat. Cut a long story short, I fumed at the Mrs, managed to trap it in the spare room with the window wide open hoping it would fly out which it did. I doubt she will risk it again.

Do you think maybe the problem is mainly you not her?

Seriously, this is offfered in the best of spirits. From what you've posted, your wife is a very hard-working NHS nurse (I may have that wrong possibly)

But your missus is telling you she is tired (which apparently you are sick of hearing), she's also telling you that she doesn't want to spend Sunday having a clearout, she just wants to do sod all (and she'd have a point, Sunday generally is the day to do sod all) and relax

In all likelihood, she agreed to tidy up on Sunday just to shut you up because its possibly easier than having the conversation and she's hoped you'll have forgotten about it in the morning because she's tired!

Then in the other post, you wake up needing a piss and discover an open window, I'm sorry but the normal reaction here is to close it, not go back to bed and tell your wife to close it. An hour later there's a bat in the house and in your head it's her fault and you think it's her error when YOU didn't close it when you spotted it

Do you wonder why she didn't want to go on a surprise spa day? She's tired, she keeps telling you this apparently but it seems its not a valid reason in your book

Honestly, despite any differences we have on here, I am offering this in the genuine hope it helps you. From what you've posted you really need to have a think about her needs not your needs and stop playing the blame game

Please don't take it the wrong way, I'm saying it because I think it might help

I don't take it the wrong way, but there's a little more to it than the Mrs being tired. I cannot post all detail on here.

Like the window thing, I did close it before I went to bed, she then opened it as wide as it will go when she went to bed about an hour later, that's how the bat got in.

Being tired is life when you get older, I thought the spa day would be good to relax, obviously I was wrong. I only really have weekends myself to chill, I am knackered too,  I do about 40k miles a year in the car, it's a killer, an the last thing I wanna do weekends is chores, but stuff has to be done tired or not when you have a busy life.

1 straight after the other though?

Definitely. Two successive cups of coffee in front of the telly, then maybe breakfast. Every Saturday and Sunday.

On weekdays, no time, coffee taken in the car on my way to work.

Well this is new to me. 2 coffees would put me over the edge.

Anyway football about to start, so today is a write off. 😆

It’s the reward for a week in work, to dick about making a coffee on the stove. A proper coffee that smells of coffee. To site there and drink it whilst chatting shit or catching up on twitter.

Then, ten or fifteen minutes later doing it again. The luxury of having the time to take a second coffee.

I do not like a weekend morning that does not start with two coffees. My exception, is to be tempted out of the house after one coffee, with the promise of an early coffee shop coffee.

I’d rather not, as that would interfere with the equally rewarding consequence of having two cups of coffee on an empty stomach.

I don’t think I get any of the common coffee / caffeine consequences.

I can drink a lot of strong coffee and get none of the side effects. But equally I can stop drinking coffee for a couple of days and not get any sort of withdrawal. So I think I’m quite lucky that I like it and I can kind of physiologically take it or leave it.

Psychologically, a good coffee is deeply connected with taking a break / having a reward.

I thought similar, then I took a one cup press into work with strong ground coffee and probably loaded too much coffee. F*** me, I was flying. So now I have a level where it doesn’t affect me much but once I cross that (very high) threshold, oh sweet imaginary child of a deity…

I’d have to drink a LOT of coffee to get the jitters, and two cups won’t make me recreate a Voijnama porn special, but no coffee will certainly lead to withdrawal symptoms and a cup or two helps speed up the system just the right amount.

Went to a Services on Saturday as was a bit tired and needed a slash. Thought I would get a Starbucks while I was there. Must have been 80 people in the queue! Couldn't be bothered to queue, pissed me right off!

Starbucks coffee (over here) is absolutely dire. It's shite, mass produced crap. Always worth looking for a small independent coffee shop.

Although the fact that they've convinced huge swathes of the population that an 800 calorie, $10, sweetened, caramal wanka frankaccino is related to coffee, is stroke of capitalist genius.
