I am in the centre of the anus. In the middle of an industrial estate right next to a rubbish dump around the corner from the Dog track. The really stupid thing is that cars have to turn up here for inspection and be very clean. It’s feckin impossible

Genuine quote from my department's director update

"And so we're looking to expand our engineer headcount to justify how big our management layer is"

Not "now that we've successfully implemented our restructuring plan and got our management structure in place, we intend to increase the number of engineers in order to take the company to next level"?

BBC's coverage of Noel Gallagher at Glastonbury. Why does the cameraman keep going to a horrible little ginger scroat in a Blues shirt.

I felt like committing an act of violence towards my TV set every time his dirty face pops on my screen.

I watched him do a few tunes, badly, and noticed the Wilfred bramble lookalike in the blues shirt. Wondered how he afforded a ticket then remembered as a blue supporter he will be eligible for make a wish.

I was underwhelmed by the Noel Gallagher set.

He seems to be stuck between wanting to do his newer solo stuff, but realising people bought the ticket to hear the Oasis tunes which he doesn’t want to perform anymore.

He did the same as he does for all his shows, new stuff first oasis stuff to finish, more or less 50/50 split

It actually looks like the same setlist he's wheeled out all of last week at his various shows around the country in different gig locations (played cannock chase)

There's so many oasis songs he could randomly chuck out and the place would go nuts but he doesn't do it, neither does Liam really, he adds a new song every tour but doesn't mix it up either

I thought the same for him as I thought for a few others - didn't come across loud enough and like he was straining

I was going to put this in the “things you don’t get” thread but I have general idea why.

I really don’t enjoy the Wimbledon crowd (tennis, not the scamps from Plough Lane).

I think it’s something to do with the (admittedly understandable) favouritism that they have for certain players.

Because there are only two (sometimes four) players it feels amplified and more unsportsmanlike. It’s somehow feels more personal against the opposition, I guess. If a football team was playing with no support, the vocal noise against them would come across as dissipated, I feel.

I know this happens in snooker (“G’wan Ronnie!!!”). While I don’t care for that either, the Wimbledon crowd irritates me far more and I’m not sure why.

Yeah came off at 12

Up to Gailey roundabout, turn left and down the A road until you get to the big traffic island and into Wolves that way?

Nope

Watling St towards Cannock then first right through to Four Ashes.

Gailey Roundabout is for Amateurs ;)

And don't get me started on the way I got back to Liverpool... A500, / A51 round Crewe and Nantwich past Tarporley and up to Chester then through the Wirral

Feck knows what was going on on the M6 further north but my Sat Nav was routing me off at junctions increasingly southward as huge delays were building up

:D I did that route last time... there is a little car showroom by the industrial estate in Four Ashes. Think there was a Mk 2 Ford Escort in the window...
