John Landis uses it (in different forms) in many of his movies.

sidcow Posted May 31, 2022 VT Supporter Share Posted May 31, 2022 Picked my brother up from the Airport. Get in the car and he switches my radio off. Not turn it down (which even that isn't allowed) but actually turned the **** er off. If just his actions aren't bad enough it then just served to emphasise the awkward gaps in conversation once we've got over "How was the flight?" and "How are things?" generics.

Tell the word removed to get a taxi next time, or there's no VT sympathy for you.

If that was somebody I didn't know very well, I'd probably feel so awkward I'd probably say nothing. But if it was my brother I'd probably say "Oi, ya word removed, get yer hands off" and put it back on. But then I'm an only child and I've never quite understood sibling relationships.
bannedfromHandV
Yeah I’d literally just say what the F are you doing and if there’s not a satisfactory reason for the music going off, it’s going back on.

One for the families thread but I'd be really wary about picking up on even something like that. We're out drinking on Friday and it would be brought up and blown out of proportion once the beers hit a certain level. And probably brought up again next time, and next time. Much better to vent on VT.

I've chucked people out the cab for this. Ask me to turn it off, fine, I'll do that. Just turning off, adjusting the volume, changing the channel etc without asking... I do have a brother and certainly wouldn’t feel awkward about telling him to keep his hands off my radio, but then again my brother is a saint who would never do such a thing without asking. As it happens, on long drives, my brother will typically be the designated DJ anyway, as in addition to being a saint, he also has a more than acceptable taste in music.
