When you let an oncoming driver through & they dont acknowledge your courtesy...even worse, the ones who glare at you as they drive through.

Is it too much to ask to raise your hand in appreciation ? Apparently, yes it is.

Drives me mad that does! I always do a sarcastic over-exuberant thumbs up at them as they get level.

C'mon leemond, were waiting.

Re- driving courtesy. To be honest I've moved past expecting that. Most do show it in fairness and those who don't I can almost predict who they are beforehand. You're right, it's not too much to ask, but in the grand scheme it's not something I get overly worked up about. No, I get much more annoyed by outright negligence and poor driving than by the lack of a kind hand gesture or the courtesy flashing of the hazard lights.

OOHHHHH IM **** ANGRY

you may remember chocolategate a few months back when I bought a twirl thinking it was a spira only to throw it at the birds head who sits opposite me

well I dont eat chocolate very often at all, but just now I fancied going a little crazy and dunking a galaxy bar in a cup of tea, well I bought the galaxy bar out of the vending machine and every single **** square was already broke, needles to say the **** thing was 'undunkable' every one found it highly amusing I refused to eat the chocolate and threw it on the same girls desk and stomped off back to my desk in a right **** strop

what is it with chocolate that is like the second bar I have bought in three months and I havent been able to enjoy it as I wanted to

GGRRRRRR

And why do vending machines always seem to charge way over the odds prices?

ooouuu touched a nerve now :D Fancied some mints the other day, our vending machine at work has Extra Strong mints for 70p a pack... I can get a 5 pack from poundland for (you guessed it) £1

convenience?

You're paying for the food and some company to deliever it to the room you're sitting in.. Can't see the problem.

Downstairs in the university foyer there is a shop that sells sweets and pop, etc. About ten feet away from it is a vending machine selling the same stuff at an (at least) 50% markup. The only difference I can see is the fact that the machine is available 24/7, i.e. when the shop is closed. But on the other hand, the shop has to pay staff while it's open. Makes no sense.

The only thing that doesn't make sense here is that your university isn't very good at planning..

Regardless of there being a shop downstairs that's cheaper, the vending company still has to make money, don't they??..

It's not their fault the uni have decided to put one there.

There was a good quote from the actress Josie Lawrence on the radio the other day. Apparently a cabbie said to her: "You like like that Catherine Zeta-Jones... only uglier".

If you Google them, you can see what he was getting at. But he could perhaps have worded it better.

 Brilliant. He's right. Very right if you know what I mean. In this particular case I agree more tact could have been used, but on a more general note, I find that cases that lack tact are matched just as often by cases where a tolerant ear was missing when tact has been used. So to bring my post back on topic, I'll say that society's desire to be offended by anything and everything these days is one of my major bugbears.

I promise you, I actually try to find good in anything. But on top of the fat remark *whish is fairly common on my mothers side of the family* what followed it once being thinner was noticed?....'Let me get you something to eat'

On the plus side in less than 24 hours 3 people were shocked at my age thinking I was much younger. One followed it up with 'Damn I hope I look that good when I'm THAT old'.....WIN!!!!! made the entire day better I tell ya!!!
