The British honours system. Rewarding people for doing their **** job. Not just British people, this year unfunny Australian entertainer Adam Hills, a man who I believe is paid by Channel 4 already. **** hate this ridiculous tradition.

Nearly all of this morning’s news is dedicated to it. It’s all bullshit.

The only good thing to come of it all is reading about those that have declined their knighthoods. Good on those people.

Posted this in October 2020. I stand by it.

In the order of things. Most palatable to least regarding British honours.

1. Get rid of the honours system.

2. OK honour people that have done extraordinary things that is not something they are paid to do. Not tweet support for a charity, kick a ball around with african kids or attend a dinner

3. OK you still want to keep the honours system, well if you bung your extra cash at something for the betterment of the underprivileged, doesn’t take work just cash.

4. Children in need/comic relief spot doing poverty porn.

5. Services to entertainment/fashion/sport etc.

This whole thing doesn't piss me off, twice a year it makes me **** angry.

But, but he has highlighted diversity, him only having 1 leg and others on the show.

I'm very surprised actually, he is has been disrespectful of the Royals, especially the government too.

Setup my Kobo e reader today, what a load of crap this setup is.

First I had to pick the pictures with boats

Then I had to do it again with a different set of pictures.

FFS,I dont understand this,I mean the only reason you would be setting up anything would be if you already owned it.So whats with proving you are not a robot crap.Unless of corse robots are now buying Kobo e readers. If that is the case then I take back all I have written above and apoligise to the robots.

Our PE teacher was Barry Corless, Coventry, Moseley and England international. Hired, I'm sure, purely because of his rugby prowess, as he wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer (they let him teach first year geography, but that was about his limit). That said, unlike many a PE teacher, he was a nice enough bloke, and didn't persecute those of us who were hopeless at games.

Played in the same Mosely team as my PE teacher, Les Cusworth. Corless was ending his "career" and Cusworth starting to make a name for himself getting the occasional game. Back then, Moseley were one of the top sides in the country and had a number of England players in the squad. The Tragic Sam Doble (also a teacher - went to his memorial game, Cusworth and Corless both played) and Martin Horton (who was keeping Cusworth out of the team despite being inferior). The Reddings also hosted County Championship games, iirc Bill Beaumont played his last ever game there, getting injured in a Lancashire vs the Midlands CC Semi Final.

I used to go down quite a bit. Amazing how I remember all that to be honest

I'm fairly sure I went to school with that guy's son, James.

I mean, I went to school with a guy called James Corless who was good at Rugby and also played for Moseley and looked like that guy in the picture, so I'm putting 2 and 2 together.

He was in the year above me but we were in the same Rugby team for a couple of years

Quite possible. Basher Corless's missus was a real good looker, as I recall.

@villa4europe was right... I should choose better rum!

I'm not too bad, not cos of the brand of rum but come 12 I tipped the drink I had down the sink and gave up, started late due to putting the baby to bed and never really got in to the swing of it, wasted it really, big meal at 6 didn't start drinking until 8, was never happening for me

Edit - tomorrow I've got the villa game followed by Liverpool Chelsea hopefully done the pub, got to check with them in the morning if they'll have it on (a lot of them don't open until 6 on a Sunday) Monday will definitley be Sunday booze Monday blues, fortunately working from home because I plan on being dribblingly drunk

This is me down to a T. Was meant to slow cook a chili from about 2pm but the kids napping pattern meant I started it at 5 and ate it at 8. Kids were knackered, as was the missus. They went to bed and didn't get back up which meant I was alone watching 'around the world...' on my own till 11.58 where I watched the Bulgarian president countdown. After that I watched the fireworks from the balcony and went to bed.

This evening however, a family friend came round and we've got nicely pissed and the missus has just gone to the shop for two more bottles. Tonight I'll be green dotting randoms.

Vanessa Redgrave accepting a Damehood

She's a lifelong Trot an expelled member of the Workers Revolutionary Pary and devotee of Gerry Healy. What self respecting Trot becomes a Dame?

Who knows? There is nothing like a Dame.

Just been the takeaway, couldn't be bothered to cook. Didn't want a curry as trying to cut it out so got curry sauce and chips for me and the lad. Not only did they charge me £4.50 each in a tray, the chips were like yesterday's and if I say they gave me a drizzle of curry sauce it'd be too much. It's only round the corner and I know the guy, not sure what has stopped me from going round and ask if he's taking the piss. Both went in the bin after I eat a few chips. I wasn't expecting a la carte, an I know its only chips but to be honest I'm Fuming. 😡

What a rip off.

Its only £5.20 for mini fish n chips, with curry sauce and sausage from the chippy in Aldridge. Very nice as well! Had it on Thursday... won't have it again, not because I didn't like it, but because my jeans are getting too tight 😭

It's a Omen. Just turned the tv over to watch MoTD and saw the end of Mrs Brown boys. New Year wrecked already. 🤪

I watched about 10 minutes of the show on Christmas Day out of nothing but laziness as the remote was across the room.

Truly, truly awful. I know everyone is different but I just couldn’t imagine how anyone would find it good/funny.
