AVFC_Hitz
yep, totally agree with this There's one at the moment where it's some cider or other, the story is it's just a little farm but before the next batch of cider, stored in a wooden vat in a barn with straw on the floor can be despatched to us, it has to pass the old farmer's taste test. He scoops in a jug and has a glug of golden bubbly cider as quality control. We all know it's made on an industrial estate on the outskirts of some town and stored in 20 metre high stainless steel towers, quality control is by computer analysis and cost consultant purchasing of competitively priced ingredients supplied to a tight specification. But yeah, old farmer Bill's secret recipe. "Friendly" packaging annoys me. I bought some fair trade coffee from oxfam yesterday and there was a 6 panel cartoon on how to hug like a bear...what's all that about then. Also, what's with adverts on British TV with animals being humans? A **** zebra decorating his home. Eh?

"How many wins have Aston Villa managed in 35 games this season?" Oh, how I laughed. At least we won the **** quiz. Getting at you by setting questions that you above anyone in the quiz would know the answer to. Excellent. See how that works out for everyone

My advice is go to a different quiz. Shouldn't line the pockets of a nose even if you have to travel 50 miles to the next pub. . Not telling you where I do mine though as if you won yours you are probably a good team so stay away!
chrisp65
By sheer force of intellect and debating skills I persuaded my new quiz team to change their answer on where the national railway museum was. They'd written York, I knew it was Swindon and got all 5 of them to come round to my answer. We lost by a single point.

Stevo985 Posted April 27, 2016 VT Supporter Share Posted April 27, 2016 In the situation where I know an answer but everyone else says otherwise, I don't push it even if I KNOW I'm right. The smugness you can show and the apologies from your teammates is nearly as good as getting the question right anyway, with none of the risk
tonyh29
Off to a quiz night at my daughter school next week , apparently the theme is going to be around countries ... Arguably my specialised subject which means I just know I'm going to make a complete pigs ear of it ... But will answer the question for the school as to which parent she got her brains from , I think they've already established she didn't get her looks form me

That's brilliant. it really narks me, too. And it's often me that does it. It even bugs me if the clock on a random apparatus is wrong - like a microwave, or a proper oven, or a clock radio, car radio - anywhere. Even clocks in shops. BOF Posted April 27, 2016 Moderator Share Posted April 27, 2016 Re- microwaves. I'm the opposite. If I don't hear the 'ding' then the food is not cooked.

I have a built in microwave just above the built in conventional oven , one clock will show 12:15 and the other 12:14 .... life is too short to sit there waiting for the seconds to collate on the 2 devices to put them in sync
