More of a general observation really, with the exception of a few outstanding contestants the overall standard seems to be fairly low at the moment. Admittedly i don't watch every week, but there always seem to be one or two contestants who are no better than your average viewer at home. I class myself as reasonably intelligent (don't laugh!) but I would never apply for Mastermind as I wouldn't want to embarrass myself. I think the pressure must be a factor - I felt absolutely fine with radio, but TV may be more stressful. There is always a lot of luck involved. A little more than reading a couple of books. I have 2 nailed on. A third possibly and a 4th would be a stretch. I almost trod on it when I went for a dump and could quite easily have got a piss-soaked leg.
