BOF Posted July 20, 2015 Moderator Share Posted July 20, 2015 Great. Just what you need. Bit of a dick to knowingly sabotage a team though. I'd find it hard not to tell him to cop on or **** off.
chrisp65
It was an old school friend of the blokes I play football with, they all know him better than they know me, apparently he's one of these that used to be brilliant, had trials everywhere, was in someone or others youth team, didn't make it and now just doesn't care, he doesn't come because he enjoys football he's comes so he can see his mates, he tries to have 5-10 minute chats to people during the game and messes about

il_serpente Posted July 21, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted July 21, 2015 Players who cross themselves before every time they enter and leave the pitch (or field/court/rink in other sports). Do they really think their god cares enough about a bloody football match that he/she/it is going to intervene on their behalf over the all the others on the other team who've done the same thing? Do they think he/she/it will punish them with a poor performance, loss or injury if they don't cross themselves? Do they think it will give them absolution for transgressions such as diving, throwing an elbow during the match or just generally behaving in a way that's inconsistent with the teachings of their religion? Stevo985 Posted July 21, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted July 21, 2015 Pay day loans COULD be a good thing, couldn't they? If they didn't exploit people in the process. Or is that a naive point of view?

Eames
Pay day loans COULD be a good thing, couldn't they? If they didn't exploit people in the process. Or is that a naive point of view? In a utopian world where everyone repays yes they could be. Trouble is anyone who is financially stable whacks it on a credit card and clears it the next month, paying no interest - especially the low amounts typically lent by pay day companies. Trouble is if you're looking at pay day lending you're either not desirable from a credit point of view or desperate - especially with hugely punitive rates of interest and late payment charges, they are marketed as easy, consequence free and helpful. Here is £500 for 30 days, it will solve your short term cash flow problems. Whats that? It puts you in the same boat next month when you run out of ££ faster? Have another £500 - plus £50 to cover the fees from last time. With no checks as to whether you can actually afford it, or if they'll see it again.

MakemineVanilla
Pay day loans COULD be a good thing, couldn't they? If they didn't exploit people in the process. Or is that a naive point of view? There definitely should be usury laws. The government are responsible for creating the precariat who use these services by deregulating the labour market and shutting down the Social Fund in 2013. The problem with being obsessed with Wonga et al, is that it distracts from the fact that more people are being screwed into bankruptcy by the exorbitant rates allowed in the mainstream credit market, where rates are still egregiously usurious. But it has to be acknowledged that there is no cure for financial incontinence or reckless stupidity. BOF Posted July 21, 2015 Moderator Share Posted July 21, 2015 When people post "has he gone yet?" in threads about players/managers who might be on their way out.My personal 'favourite' is when people ask why a thread hasn't been locked when there's absolutely no reason for it to be locked other than the fact that they themselves are bored clicking in it.
MakemineVanilla
Not being able to sleep, anyone got some good advice on how to deal with it ? Do not nap in the evening. Do not imbibe caffeine drinks late at night. Go to bed at the same time every night. Do not try to match your sleep time with your partner's. Set up a going to bed ritual of doing certain little jobs, which you will learn to associate with going to bed. Don't do anything in bed except sleeping, no watching TV etc. Try not to get anxious about not sleeping. Count in your head if you have distracting thoughts. The biggest cause of sleep disturbance is shift work.
