Pinebro
It doesn't seem sustainable the way they play at 300 miles per hour full intensity every game. I wonder if they will burn out similar to Bielsas teams with the additional games. Edited August 27, 2023 by Pinebro
Amed
Lovely to see that result - they thought they were world beaters after our game. They are not.
tinker Posted August 27, 2023 VT Supporter Share Posted August 27, 2023 Liverpool looked very good up front, we are in for a hard game next week that's for sure. Newcastle ran out of ideas against 10 men, something we have struggled with in the past.

Hardly “getting away with murder”? The fact that they foul so much, have the most yellows, and they STILL get away with murder is mad to me. I'm on a disc server with footy fans across all teams and everyone says the same.

DJBOB
They’re such a high energy/high press team that they look confused when Liverpool went down to 10. When they had their dip in form last year, it was against a run of teams who just sat back against them. The book should be out on them that they don’t know how to break teams down unless it’s a Trippier set piece. In open play, it’s like they’re sad they can’t just foul and run. Popular Post Marka Ragnos Posted August 27, 2023 VT Supporter Popular Post Share Posted August 27, 2023 (edited) I just think some Villa supporters and of course almost the entire football media establishment assumed that Newcastle crushed us because they are special and buy all that "We Are Newcastle" bullshit -- when the main reason they beat us was that our squad had just seen their teammate and friend and captain-in-all-but-armband horrifically injured. It did their heads in, and they basically fell apart. Liverpool was always going to edge it today, although the red card should have scuppered that destiny. The pre-season game was a more accurate reflection of where we stand versus Newcastle. Edited August 27, 2023 by Marka Ragnos

A lot of them saying he’s not been great for some time now, including the last few months of last season. I was surprised - thought the sun shone out of Bruno’s arse as far as they were concerned. JPJCB
Their game against Brighton will be interesting next week. They’re arguably the best pressing team in the league while Brighton are the best at beating the press
