Howe can take some plaudits, but they've spent 185 million. Also it's amazing how much you up your game when infinite money comes in and your club can start going places.

They were still bringing on Manquillo and starting Jacob Murphy today so not like their first 11 is Arsenal or Man. City standard just yet.

As I keep on saying as much as we hate what they stand for, we also need to quietly note what they did last summer.

They had that ridiculous run and just missed out on europe. They then added Pope, Botman and Isak.

That's what we need to do now to make top 6 challenges a regular thing in next 2-3 years.

It is, still surprises me when you see comments about villas spending (usually in the sentence "we should be doing better") it's like people have lost the context of what PL spending is

£185m is 2 players for city, utd and Chelsea, 3 for Liverpool

They've bought good key players in the spine of the team, I still don't think the squad is that good personally, looking at the 16 players they used today I'd want 6 maybe 7 of them at villa

Spurs line up today had Porro at 40m (if they've signed him permanently). Romero at 35m I think and also Sanchez aswell coming on and he was 41m so their terrible backline cost 100m +.

Egos mate, them players been put on 8 year contracts they ain't going anywhere soon. Joelinton and Murphy would have ended up at a Southampton or Bournemouth, if they hadn't started grafting, they know where there bread is buttered.

I think its a combination of what you say and managerial skills. Look at villa everybody seems to be putting in much more of a shift and playing to their max ability.

Chelsea are the opposite of Newcastle, to an extent so are spurs, utdaand arsenal were previously, no one wants to be there, it's not a happy place, they're not guaranteed a place on the bench let alone a starting role, they phone in a performance and play at 70% and the media and the fans go after the owners or the manager... Joelinton has a bad game and the fans don't really go after him, they definitely aren't going after Howe or the owners, they move on and stay happy and supporting

Its all in their heads, footballers IMO are some of the biggest skivers going and Newcastle are turning up and playing at 100% more than anyone else, that's why last week was so good to watch

Villa is the same, players feel good, fans feel good, everyone grafts but we've been there with the same players who couldn't pass the ball to a team mate if they were in a phone box

Amazing how players play their socks off when you have billionaire owners and a lot of money is at stake.

Just goes to show what fans have been saying for a while. Modern footballers aren't showing as much effort and desire as they should or is capable of.

The wealth of Newcastle and City is astonishing with government level control and ownership of their own internal banking structures.

These players will  be HUGELY incentivised with incredible financial bonuses in Saudi bank accounts which are untracked by the PL / FFP etc. That's where the extra running and hard work comes in.

Begrudgingly got to say that they are the real deal.  They have instantly put everything right that was wrong against us. Sign of a good team and a good manager.

You have to say thiugh sours contributed to that loss massively they were hopeless. None of them look like they could be arsed apart from kane.

5 teams who could win the league, the PL is truly the best league in the world.

Maybe Eddie can arrange for the lads to miss drugs tests like he did at Bournemouth 👀

That would have been the legal system's time to shine, but instead Man City will probably get a tiny slap on the wrist and now we have TWO state-backed teams instead of one stinking up the league. Yay capitalism and sportswashing!

Chelsea won't be able to compete against that level;

Back to a top 4....oh good!

That's happening everywhere, there's a reason there's never any positive tests.

The Sauds are the most powerful family in the Khaleeji Middle East cabal. The rest are their puppets. The fact they’re protected by The USA and Britain doesn’t help as they have one set of rules for themselves and another for the population. Hypocrites.
