Look at Newcastle's results with him in/out of team in last 12 months, crucial for how they play in midfield given the supporting cast is Longstaff and Willock. Newcastle are not going to be remotely in our orbit in the next few years. They are the richest club in the world and will spend like it. Whoever they sell, they will replace. They are on another level entirely now.
DCJonah
Just like the man City cheating, its a disgrace that in years to come will be a stain on the Premier league.
pas5898
Newcastles biggest signings will the "off the pitch" in the next couple of years allowing them to beat FFP. There will be bribes, sorry donations to various Premier League officials business interests, lucrative opportunities, first class trips etc allowing the loopholes for FFP exploitation to be identified or changed. Then we will see an unprecedented level of spending.
The_Steve
The owners can be removed just FYI. The Premier League can change its mind. I mean, it can. Doesn't mean it will.
Chindie Posted March 3, 2023 VT Supporter Share Posted March 3, 2023 The Premier League aren't going to open themselves up to getting sued by a party with essentially bottomless pockets. They might theoretically be able to 'remove' Newcastle's dodgy owners, but they won't actually even consider it as a prospective course of action. I imagine they've already been given assurances by Infantino that they will be awarded the 2030 WC and will go in full Qatar/PSG style bribery and spending bonanza in the coming years. Would be fantastic if Morocco managed to get the WC instead thou. They deserve it and it would be an amazing spectacle.
OutByEaster? Posted March 3, 2023 Moderator Share Posted March 3, 2023 Why do we think the league would want to expel their richest member? They'll be doing everything in their power to quieten this down, smooth it over and make Amnesty go away.

Where are we heading as a sport, when Amnesty international and previously, the wife of a murdered journalist, are pleading for a takeover of a football club not to happen.

That's fair - but no-one really cares. Everyone is still watching the Premier League product; and the PL know this. They know nothing really matters.
Jareth
It remains to be seen, but it may not be up to the premier league to rule on newcastle's owners - it'll be the remit of the independent regulator, installed exactly because football has failed to regulate itself. Who's to say things are politically more difficult for the Saudis in the years to come - I don't necessarily think their period of ownership is without some major uncertainties. Now, I’m not saying the league will do the right thing, however, but this isn’t going to go away no matter how much the league would like it to. The only option I see happening is that the Saudis get bored of their new toy if it’s not proving the instant success they want and look at the likes of Inter or other teams in Europe. Popular Post StewieGriffin
The perception of the owners in the Amazon documentary might be interesting - I heard earlier that there's going to be a bit set out in Saudi, so having Prince Suliman Whyayeman sat in his palace whilst not wearing a Newcastle shirt and definitely not saying "thats why we love wor numba nayn" might be either hilarious, infuriating or incriminating

Most PL clubs would be happy to create problems for Newcastle as long as it doesn’t have negative consequences for themselves.
Sulberto21
Yasir Al Rumayan is chairman of PIF the sovereign wealth fund. Clue being the word ‘sovereign’, he is also the head of Aramco the state owned petroleum company. The Premier League is a corrupt organisation. BTW PIF has investments in Uber too.

Jareth
They really are having a bad time at the moment - which is nice. Not long until they start calling for Howe's head. Emery would have been great for them. ahahahha.
