R.Bear
There may be excuses but that was his worst performance in a Villa shirt.
AVTuco Posted October 27, 2014 VT Supporter Share Posted October 27, 2014 He frustrated me today, like they all did. But I'm not giving up. I just hope he didn't aggravate anything on the second half when he was limbing...

Tomaszk
Absolutely terrible. We need to keep starting him though because he's got it in him somewhere. Let's hope the manager can get him up for it.
Cliffy Biro
He's clearly not ready but he still just plain doesnt understand the offside rule, someone explain it to the poor kid. Inzaghi MKII
KSV
very little service but still managed to get a few shots/headers away. The problem is we have noone who can cross a ball. Wiemann and Gabby dont do it often enough and our full backs are shit at it. Often you see Westwood Cleverley crossing from awful angles and it comes to nothing. davemk39
lambert says hes not up to speed but will be in 6-7 games time. well get him up to speed in the reserves. beteke is a one season wonder nowhere in the same league as lukaku
George Curtis
Looked like Benteke was hobbling a bit towards the end. I think he expected to be subbed but carried on.
ozvillafan Posted October 28, 2014 VT Supporter Share Posted October 28, 2014 lambert says hes not up to speed but will be in 6-7 games time. well get him up to speed in the reserves. beteke is a one season wonder nowhere in the same league as lukaku I disagree. He's come back from a long term injury and is in a team that struggled to score without him. If anything, our lumped balls forward are a little more productive with Benteke on the field - which, sadly, just get us lumping it forward more. He needs time to settle back into the pace of the game and get some confidence in his body back.
Stevo985 Posted October 28, 2014 VT Supporter Share Posted October 28, 2014 Benteke has already performed for 2 seasons for us, so I'm not sure how he's a one season wonder. He's just had his first start after months out injured. It's absurd to expect him to hit the ground running.

omariqy
I don't think he played that badly to be honest. He was very strong and held the ball up well. His end product was poor though. That will come.
chappy
I thought he looked alright considering the long lay off, there are plenty of things to have a go about last night and his performance definitely isn't near the top of the list.
Strangeways
He's sulking or something, he is not interested in getting back onside at all, think hes fallen out of love with us losing all the time.

coda
He's slowly getting there. Just needs some sharpness and a goal. The offsides are infuriating but he's always been like that.
Belgian guy
Belgium won with 6-0 against Andorra. It seems Benteke's challenger for the striker position is not Lukaku anymore but Origi. Welcome back. Thanks. i'm sorry i am not very much active but i am really busy atm.
SeanO
Difficult to judge him as on the one hand he is coming back from a long lay off but before the injury he wasn't exactly playing like he wanted to be at Villa. However a half fit half assed Benteke is still twice as good as the rest of the forwards, beggars can't be choosers as they say.
