Belgian guy
Pfff i'm still depressed about this we Belgians have waited 12 years for this moment and now is our best striker injured Yes it must be. There's a lot on Lukaku's shoulders now. One player you couldn't do without is Hazard. Hazard isn't even half as important for us as benteke is our whole attack was build on benteke now were like a bee without an angle Lukaku is not ready to carry the weight of our team and ofcourse it sucks for aston villa to i hope wer going to stay in the PL that's realism right out the window. Who won the away game at Croatia? Benteke is one of the players that can be replaced, with Lukaku. He's a good player for Belgium, but plan B is just as good. Saying that Hazard is not important is just rubbish. Croatia played that gime with 3 defenders because they had to win when you do that to lukaku u are almost offering the goals to him on a plate. on the WQ no1 is going to give us the space wich lukaku needs. and hazard is not the same player as he is for chelsea de bruyne, courtois, benteke, kompany, witsel are our importants players. Agreed that the key players are kompany, witsel and courtois. De Bruyne played a key role in the qualifiers, but his form dropped recently. Again, benteke was not a key player for belgium. Starting every game doesn't mean you're the star. Compare it to Westwood for us, he features in every game with decent performances but he is not our star (different role I know) When fit benteke is the first choice striker for belgium, but without him the likes of hazard, Mertens, de Bruyne and Mirallas still pose enough threat to any team. Add lukaku to that and it is impossible to say that belgium has 'lost it's sting in attack'

DelboyVilla
We have not got a hope in hell that he will be with us next season. Probably? Who will buy some one in the summer who has such a serious injury? I remember when Manure postponed buying RVN for 12 months because he had a serious injury? useless
Wasn't that van nistelrooy ? I reckon other clubs will want to see how he recovers from this injury before deciding to bid and who knows maybe the whole setup of the club will be such that he doesn't want to leave anyway.

It will be the season after, unless something incredible happens to our finances......

Hopefully while CB is out we will get bought out, appoint a decent manager and build a side that will want to make CB stay?
Supervillan78
We signed Downing with a broken leg and I'm sure clubs do buy players with injuries. Hopefully Benteke will stay though, no World Cup no shop window?? Seriously need investment, keep him and build a team around him.
AshVilla
Broken Leg is a mild sprain compared to an achilles rupture The big guy is going to feel that for the rest of his career unfortunately
briny_ear
Will be just our luck if no-one wants to buy him this summer and he doesn't recover his old form. Got a feeling the "project" rather relies on getting spondulicks for Tekkers and soon..

I have watched all of them, thank you. That's also why I'm pretty sure croatia didn't play with 3 defenders in the game against Belgium. They did play high upfield because they needed to win. 'the way he controls the ball and hold it while the rest of the attackers can move'- is just the way the team is set up. Lukaku got into trouble for saying he didn't like playing with his back to goal. Again, Benteke is an important player for Belgium, but not the key player. Just this week Wilmots again stated that the first names on his sheet are Courtois, Kompany, WItsel, Hazard and De Bruyne. Granted, he's made this comment while Benteke is injured, but he doesn't say anything like 'if Benteke were fit, he would be there as well'. Lukaku is different, but not as bad as you make him out to be.
Voinjama
In a weird sort of way it may be a good thing he has had this injury. Looking at it from a selfish Villa fan point of view, if he was fit he'd go to the world cup with Belgium, have a good world cup and he'd definitely be sold to a better team. But with the injury, he will definitely be at Villa next season. Now I feel bad for him missing the world cup and missing the run in, but we will still have the only top class player in the squad next season. Every cloud.......
