Mendi
should have scored more today.

Farlz
He needs to sort himself out if he wants to move. Abysmal perfomance. He was pretty much non existent in the first half.

Guest
Maybe he's signing for United next season and didn't want to upset the fans Was in on here where somebody said United want Benteke and have already asked us about him?
Avflife
Just sell him for 20m (or more/or less depending on his performance in the WC) in the Summer. Edited March 29, 2014 by Avflife
PaulC
Overall his performance wasn't bad but his finishing today wasn't there. He's still head and shoulders above any of our other forwards and I certainly wouldn't sell for 20mil
Mantis
Another dire performance. He really doesn't want to be here, does he? Yeah, because players never have unintentional bad performances.
Guest
Reminds me a little of Yorke when he wanted to go. Yorke was a lot worse, granted.
poitier
Earlier in the season when he was carrying injuries he looked completely uninterested, but his desire seems to have been back lately. I certainly didn't think that his performance today was down to not wanting to be there. You don't miss your kick from six yards out because you want a transfer.
Electric Avenue
Worst ever game for us today. Convinced he's signed a pre deal with Yanited.
Mantis
Are people serious? He clearly wanted to score today, it just didn't fall for him. Why does everything have to be some sort of conspiracy?
Texas_Mike
This season he has pretty much played himself out of a big move. I hope he stays with us and I hope next year he is over his 2nd season shitness and tears it up again. I still hope misses like today work out to our advantage in the long run and he is still a Villa player next season.
chappy
People don't really think he was deliberately missing chances?
PieFacE Posted March 30, 2014 VT Supporter Share Posted March 30, 2014 (edited) hahaha.... some crazy people in here. He had a bad day, it happens, he's a young footballer, that's all there is to it. He's still our best player by a country mile, to suggest "just sell him" is a bit ridiculous. No one does over-reactions like VT. Electric Avenue
Maybe he's gone on strike slightly earlier this year ? The official strike will start May 12. I doubt he will be back after the WC.
Mantis
If he'd "gone on strike" he wouldn't have even got into those positions to score in the first place. Edited March 30, 2014 by Mantis
Voinjama
I said in the pub, when he miss kicked the ball and Carrick cleared, that will cost us, United will go up the other end and score now....
villa-revolution
Even though "The Beast" had an absolute stinker yesterday ( which proves he's sometimes human as opposed to super human) he still managed to get into scoring positions on many occasions & could easily have grabbed 4 goals. As long as he brings his shooting boots next time up he will do just fine. The most positive thing is Benteke is still proving to be a real handful & the goals will surely follow. Witness how many times Vidic bounced off him with a simple shrug of our talisman's shoulders yesterday. He is still our key player, so watch out Premier League when he exacts his revenge. The Beast will return.
