Cliffy Biro
Dont think he would guarantee anyone the title, he'd certainly improve pretty much every team in the division though except the manchester teams.
samjp26
I reckon he'd improve every team and although he wouldn't guarantee anybody the title on his own, combine him in good form with any of the title chasing teams and I'm sure he could boost their chances significantly. I think if the Arsenal players keep up their performances, grabbing Benteke in January would set them on their way to win the title. Ozil is as creative a player as you can get, put him with potentially the most complete forward in the league and I think they would be well on their way to glory, not to mention the likes of Ramsey etc. One of Arsenal's potential downfalls is that they only have one class striker to lead the line: Giroud. If he falls out of form or gets injured then they have to rely on Bendtner. It's the only move that makes sense to me from all angles apart from the price which I pointed out in my previous post(s). For me, the only way Benteke goes anywhere is if Wenger gambles. Edited November 13, 2013 by samjp26
Rovers13
Arsenal have podolski and Walcott who can play as striker, obviously they're a different type of player to Giroud but they do have options.

Yes people forget they have those two to come back from injury. Why are we trying to sell Benteke to Arsenal? They'd have to come up with a crazy offer else we'd have no reason to accept. Benteke's hardly going to be begging to leave in January. I think Arsenal will come back in for Suarez but not in January.
The Fun Factory
There is no hope and bob hope chance of him going in January. The summer is a different story altogether. I suspect there has been a gentleman's argeement between him and the club that if a acceptable offer is put in after the season, we will let him go. Cliffy Biro
I think the club knows full well that someone with that kind of potential would have no intention of staying with us long term. I expect plenty of articles between now and the end of january but thats about it, no way we'd let him go unless we got a ridiculous offer. briny_ear
All this talk of how Benteke would enhance other teams is making me feel a bit ill. In particular, thinking of him playing for Arsenal with Özil is very distressing because the prospect is indeed very tasty and would be great to see...If it wasn't for the fact that we would lose our outstanding, most exciting by a mile player. joetipton86
Cant see benteke wanting to risk not playing every week before a world cup by going to spurs. He will stay until the summer and then he will hope to have a good world cup and get noticed by a big club in the champions league.. My thoughts anyway..
romavillan Posted November 14, 2013 VT Supporter Share Posted November 14, 2013 really doubt he'd move before the world cup, it'd be more of a risk than moving in the summer. only way we'd sell would be for ridiculous cash in order to get a replacement in the same window, woudl be more than Carrol to Liverpool money... Wainy316
Tonev and Bowery probably gave him a little nudge towards wanting to leave on Saturday.
AntrimBlack
We would have to assume that he will improve on his present form, otherwise he will not be going anywhere. Saying that, I would find it difficult to believe that he is a one-season wonder.
Cliffy Biro
I think people already know what he's capable of regardless of current form, besides the way spurs are playing he would be starting every game they desperately lack presence up front which is the reason they wanted him in the first place. AVTuco Posted November 14, 2013 VT Supporter Share Posted November 14, 2013 It may turn out to be rather difficult for him in the near future, because he is being double or even triple marked. Others need to start scoring too so that Benteke gets a little more room.
joetipton86
So why doesnt adebayor ever get a sniff if its a physical presence they lack, i dont think that sort of striker is what avb looks for in his front men, perhaps the reason why they didnt budge on offer.. SikhInTrinity
Because Adebayor is very lazy and has been abysmal. He was very good for Spurs when on loan to earn a contract. Benteke would be the exact kind of striker they need, they just didn't realise it at the time.
joetipton86
I dont think he worked hard simply for a contract, when he was still contracted to city.
supernova26
Benteke playing for Belgium tonight. Missed 3 sitters apparently. Haven't got pics just going off Twitter.
PaulC
Yes watched the last 15 minutes of the first half. He missed one sitter with his head from a Fellani cross and there was another cross from De Bruyne which he backwards from a tight angle. Maybe he's lacking a little confidence. Just needs that one goal to get him going again. Edited November 14, 2013 by PaulC
