Popular Post samjp26
Long-term casualty Jores Okore is targeting a return to Aston Villa action next month. Okore has been sidelined since rupturing his cruciate ligament on only his fourth appearance for the claret and blues, the 2-1 home defeat to Newcastle in September. It was feared the 21-year-old Denmark international defender would be out for up to nine months and would miss the rest of the season, but he is recovering ahead of schedule. Okore could return to training later this month with a view to stepping up his fitness ahead of a March return. It would be a major boost for Villa, who are down to a central defensive department of three with Ron Vlaar, Ciaran Clark and Nathan Baker all experiencing injury problems of their own this season. http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/injury-update-jores-okore-ahead-6677663 BOOM

Morpheus
Great news indeed but as we've seen with Benteke we shouldn't rush him back too soon.
Nigel Posted February 6, 2014 VT Supporter Share Posted February 6, 2014 Hopefully we can win Saturday and start to put some real daylight between ourselves and the relegation pack, so we can reintroduce Jaws without any undue pressure. The remainder of this season could then be used as a bedding in process for him for next season.
Biskitt
He's certainly seems to be made of strong stuff this lad. The initial report said he would be out for 9 months but if he comes back in say, mid March, he will have only been out for 6 months in total. Rovers13
Great news indeed but as we've seen with Benteke we shouldn't rush him back too soon. Totally different injuries. I agree with not rushing, but not because of anything to do with Benteke.
samjp26
We shouldn't rush him into anything, but as soon as he when he is ready and feeling fit we need to give him some minutes, just 10 minutes here or there will do. Will be a good boost for his confidence and will also help him get back to 100%.
Kwan
Really excited for him to come back. Hope he still has his pace. Might take him a couple games to get to speed.
Christ_JM
Really excited for him to come back. Hope he still has his pace. Might take him a couple games to get to speed. Will take time to get confidence in that leg but his pace should remain.
Ghost
I hope people don't expect too much of him straight away. Placing all our defensive hopes on a 21 year old coming back from injury is risky business.
BG_Villa_Fan
I'm not convinced Lambert's vision long term is having Okore next to Vlaar, as both of them are natural right sided CDs and have always played in this position to my knowledge. I'm not sure moving Vlaar to the left in order to accommodate Okore would make us that much better.
Rob182
I think it would make us better.

I think Okore played almost exclusively at LCB for Nordsealealsleskdland. Vlaar Okore partnership will be awesome, I can feel it.
Zatman
isnt left centre back another one of these modern trends that has turned up. centre halfs should be able to play either side. like asying you need a left sided centre midfielder or striker
AndyAVFC
He seems to be on the right in most of the clips I've seen.
ArteSuave
Yeah good players should be able to play either side but everyone is going to have a preference / more experience of one side. I think Okore would still settle quickly playing there if he'd never done it before but the fact he's spent his career on that side is a nice bonus. ArteSuave
He seems to be on the right in most of the clips I've seen. I've only seen him play a handful of games to be fair, I'm just going off what Transfermarkt have his position down as. There is disappointingly little Danish League footage.
