Voinjama
I would argue Germany were the 3rd best team at the Euros looking at the performances, but yeah Croatia were unlucky to be in such a hard group. Lets wait and see.
Zatman
Germany were average in Euros. poor vs Italy and Denmark, average vs Greece and Portugal and a good 30 minutes or so put them past Holland. Croatia were a whisker from knocking out Spain with Modric giving a masterclass against them
AVFCforever1991
Yeah Croatia were quality in the Euros, Modric was the best player on the pitch against Spain.. Should have went through tbh. Edited May 30, 2013 by AVFCforever1991
Voinjama
I hope Croatia and Belgium both qualify. Both in the top 13 in Europe.

TRS-T
I dont think Belgium are as nailed on to qualify as people think. Croatia are a better team and should win the group and then it will go to a play off and potentially they could draw England, France or Portugal Yup. Could go either way. Belgium haven't beaten anyone good in a competitive match.
maqroll
Belgium are absolutely stocked with stars....when could you ever say that about Belgium? Exciting times for them. Early favorites for Euro 2016, I'd think.
Zatman
wouldnt say stocked with stars at all. They have Kompany who had an average season, Fellaini and Hazard and maybe Dembele. Courtois, Lukaku and Benteke are still green same could be said for Verthongen as good as his first season was he does go for walks sometimes. Witsel is unproven in Europe and looked very ordinary in Champions League. Vermaelen has been dreadful for 18 months and Wenger willing to ship out

AVFCforever1991
Verthongen as good as his first season was he does go for walks sometimes. Not sure, but I think he plays LB for Belgium so it's probably more acceptable to go for walks and get forward. Stevo985 Posted May 31, 2013 VT Supporter Share Posted May 31, 2013 They need to gel and gel soon though. Belgium could go 100 years without ever seeing a team this good. Most nations could, in fact. It would be a shame if they never achieved anything.
Zatman
nah. they have no width at all in defensive areas and lack a penalty box predator which Benteke isnt yet, Dont see how they can fit De Bruyne, Hazard, Dembele, Fellaini, Witsel and Mertens into the same midfield and probably a lack of defensive balance in there
Stevo985 Posted May 31, 2013 VT Supporter Share Posted May 31, 2013 They wouldn't fit them in the same midfield would they? Just means they've got options. Bloody good ones at that.
Dr_Pangloss
USA have virtually no quality. Just a bunch of athletes that work hard.

They're joint top of their group, undefeated, having only dropped 2 points and conceded only 1 goal. Yeah, they "might" not qualify. But they're doing about as well as they can be! maqroll
USA have virtually no quality. Just a bunch of athletes that work hard. We'll qualify for the WC and win a couple of games like we always do. It's that illusive next step that we just cannot seem to reach, despite the "rebirth" of US football almost a full generation ago, and all the positive implementations made over the last dozen years...we have a handful of truly gifted players, and a bunch of riff raff. Usually our work rate grinds out some good results. But we will still falter until we can actually field 11 players that can start for good European clubs. Bradley scrwed it up playing his 4-4-2 in the last world cup imo, when you have Donovan and Dempsey playing on the flanks instead of alongside the central forward (which is a weak point) and being overrun in the middle (amusingly not by England but Slovenia for half a game). The Ghana game was a missed opportunity.
