Awol
Hang on a minute. Murray is clearly taking the piss out of UKIP. No potential kippers will vote for him. All he'll do is get votes from UKIP haters, thus taking their votes away from the mainstream parties. It's a win-win for Farage. Are UKIP voters intelligent enough to see this as making fun of UKIP? Who knows, but in a country where people are stupid enough to vote for Ed Miliband to be PM I'd say anything is possible.

I wonder why someone who lives in a tax haven even cares what's going on in this country. Then again, the tories really are the party for that kind of person.

Plus if someone offered you a job in a tax haven are you seriously saying you wouldn't take it because its a tax haven and would you automatically become a Tory? It is also perfectly possible for someone to live abroad and still have an opinion (and a vote) on the country of his or her citizenship.Best leave the personal stuff out of the debate imo, makes you look like you've got no argument.
chrisp65
Well, yes and no. Ignoring which side anyone might be on and just going on the principle of it, I live in a constituency that has 'changed sides' 5 times in the last 30 years where in one election (1992) the Conservatives won by about 20 votes - having organised a campaign of getting about 400 ex-pats to postal vote. So I have opinions that might appear slightly un democratic on letting people vote that don't even live in the area. I recall articles in the local paper from people living in Spain and Madeira (I don't know why Madeira!), telling the good people of my drizzly grey town how they should be voting. I was young and found it quite irkesome. I promised myself that I'd never do that. And sure enough....I still live here.

Probably explins the stampede to live in Spain and Maderia In a slightly cruel prank on both of them, I recently told a tory canvasser that whilst I was an absolute definite violent 'no' for the conservatives, my wife was a potential vote. That she would either vote tory or, possibly not vote. This should ensure they give her lots of attention and leafleting over the next few months. I just hope I'm there when she answers the door or the phone to them.
Seat68
My daughter is a potential ukip voter, she is absolutely against immigration, because, you know, foreigners. It is however over my dead body so she may be swayed towards tory, we said let me know about your sweet life under the current government, she is thinking of not voting now. Would you really influence your daughters voting habits ? I couldn't tell you the voting habits of any of my family , and whilst at 10 my son is a bit young to vote I don't think I'd be trying to influence him ,not that he'd listen anyway , he's got my stubborn genes in him

Stupid to think any other way. the polls (for what they are worth ) don't agree with you in terms of approval ratings and PM material , so I guess you can sleep safe knowing you live in a country with stupid people Cameron has been shown to be lazy and not judge the situation until it's too late sometimes ... and sometimes he's managed to pull a Homer out the hat and get it right despite himself ... he'll rank above Brown and Major in the long term but that's about it as far as his legacy goes ... a second term if he can get one might improve that ranking Regarding Ed , even his own party don't think he's PM material , so I think your argument is kinda onto a loser ..... lapal_fan
I had to go through what the difference between Capitalism, Socialism, Republicans and Democrates with the wife the other day. If politics doesn't interest you, then really, those people don't have a chance at understanding the differences and how even small decisions can have a big effect on peoples/families lives. Now I don't claim to know much about politics, but I know what each party stands for and how it could possibly benefit me. With all that said, Milliband just doesn't have any strength of character, so to the casual voter, he doesn't look like a leader. Cameron is marginally more of a leader than he is, so the Conservatives will win again - according to my uninformed wife. Brown looked like a good leader, for what its worth. So maybe the parties should elect a big guy, with a deep voice, who seems approachable to win the next general election

They are also free, should they select one of the Daily Mail, twitchy eyed, god save da queen, selfish capitalist pig parties to pay full fair going market rate for their food, room and admin support.
PieFacE Posted January 16, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted January 16, 2015 My parents are always trying to get me to vote for UKIP. Pretty much every time I see them one of them will mention it. They've even asked if they can "have" my vote, as I don't vote. I don't believe i'm smart enough to fully understand the pro's and con's of each parties policies so I just don't vote for any of them, Nor do I have the desire to try and understand it all.
