maqroll
When starting a poll, do we need moderator approval? Also, do we still have the option of putting a time limit on a poll? Link to comment
0 limpid Posted April 12, 2013 Administrator Share Posted April 12, 2013 You can only create polls in certain forums (I forget which). A mod can put a time limit on the whole thread, but not just on the poll part. What are you trying to do? I might be able to think of an alternative.. Link to comment
0 maqroll
a 1990's film tournament....say 32 films...the first poll could be The Usual Suspects vs Trainspotting, people have 48 hrs to vote, then we move one to the next matchup...As master of ceremonies, I'd be the one choosing the films... 0 limpid Posted April 15, 2013 Administrator Share Posted April 15, 2013 48 hours is quite limiting, unless you are going to do it on the same day each week. Does it need to be a strict cutoff? After whatever time period, can you post the results to the thread? Link to comment
0 maqroll
I was thinking any longer than 48 hours, people's attention might start to wander. And yep, results would be posted... Link to comment
0 limpid Posted April 15, 2013 Administrator Share Posted April 15, 2013 So do you want the whole thread locking after two days? Link to comment
0 maqroll
Hmm, I see what you mean...I wonder if there's a way to keep the thread alive, but edit the poll every 48 hours... Link to comment
0 limpid Posted April 18, 2013 Administrator Share Posted April 18, 2013 I think only mods can edit polls, but feel free to try by creating a test thread in this forum. Link to comment
