Juventus are 8 points clear with a game in hand in Italy. Bayern are 20 points clear in Germany. Barcelona are 11 points clear in Spain. PSG are 6 points clear with a game in hand in France. The number of points that the team who wins the league in most major divisions is always rising because the financial imbalance in the game means the biggest clubs can stockpile the best players, then use those players to make sure they continue to win the league. The model that the best teams get the biggest rewards is fine in theory, but it was implemented at a time when the difference in money between the winners and the also rans was a lot smaller. That doesn't explain why City and Chelsea are so far behind United or why Real are being trounced by Barca. Italy is an odd one too, none of them have any money do they? The other clubs have to rent their stadiums and since the City is making money off that, they won't give them permission to build their own stadiums.
