He's guilty because he's admitted killing somebody. There's no questioning that. The question is is he telling the truth. My suspicion is he isn't. But it's ludicrous to be so certain either way as none of us have seen the evidence. All any of us are doing is acting on instinct and the (probably sensationalise) snippets from the media
PaulC
Ok but his story doesn't add up. Why would she lock the bathroon door? Surely she would have cried out after the first shot? Unless that was the fatal shot. Guess they can prove which shot was fatal! Yes and why would the burgler lock himself in the bathroom? Her empty bladder proves nothing as she could have ran to the bathroom and went to the toilet before he got there. Or she could have just gone before. Anyway we'll see what happens in the trial. I just hope its not another OJ. Edited February 25, 2014 by PaulC

Voinjama
This won't be half as interesting now that CI isn't here. Sorry what happened to CI? Kicked off the forum for comments made in sponsor thread. Although rumour has it that he has come back to the forum under a different name and writing style....who knows. tonyh29
I thought the ITV documentary deconstructed the prosecution case and suggested Oscar's version of events was likely true ?
Frobisher
I didn't watch that. I was unaware of its existence. I just wanted to make my post sort of on topic.

chappy
I think he'll get off firstly because of who he is, secondly as the police completely bungled the whole affair, thirdly due to the media and the fact he can't have a fair trial, people gobbing off about his violent temper etc etc. fourthly because shooting and killing people is semi ok in SA. A gem from good old CI on the previous page after saying on page 1 about how angry OP had been during the Olympics on page

bickster Posted February 26, 2014 Moderator Share Posted February 26, 2014 Why would she lock the bathroon door?I don't find that abnormal behaviour even, I would imagine there are plenty of women who do that even in their own homeSurely she would have cried out after the first shot? Unless that was the fatal shot. Guess they can prove which shot was fatal!Of course they can prove which shot was fatal, they probably find it much harder to prove which shot was first thoughYes and why would the burgler lock himself in the bathroom? How do you know Pistorious checked if the bathroom was locked? It is already accepted that he didn't have his legs on so the chances are that it is unlikelyIf a burglar was in the act of escaping, he may well lock a bathroom door. were there any windows in the bathroom? villa4europe
I bet his money buys him a manslaughter conviction and he's out in 7 years. can they downgrade the charge? from what i've seen he's been charged with murder and 3 firearm offenses in that report though i read 2 things which pissed me off - - the judge vehemently opposes violence against women - that's the way this case will play out, was he a bastard to her, but him killing her doesn't necessarily mean that he knocked her about - he watched porn the night he shot her - oh no! must mean he didn't love her... donnie
No way can he possibly get off with this. Can just imagine the scenario of the scene: Oscar on hearing a noise - 'who da?! I say who is da?! GF - 'its me, im just havin' a wee in the toilet' Oscar - ' I say who is da, I gonna shoot you' Gf - 'its me you dumb fack' Oscar shoots her dead. Havent read the thread so sure someone has commented on it, but he was a reported 'juicehead'. Ive met a few guys who take steroids and they all seemed mentally unstable. Jon
From the bits I've seen and read, I'd say he's guilty or murder, rather than manslaughter.
