kurtsimonw
So what's it now? Dallas win - Dallas and Washington in. Washington win - Washington and Chicago in. EDIT: So it's just winner is in, for some reason I thought Chicago were still alive? Edited December 31, 2012 by kurtsimonw
kkr
9 yards shy gutted! Still, what a beast AP is!
kkr
Same. Despite the banter with claret on here, I don't really dislike the Skins that much and RG3 actually comes accross as pretty decent bloke. I wouldn't want them to go all the way, but between them and Dallas it's a no-brainer for me! Just another big game for Romo to choke away and Jerry to cry over. I fancy the Skins DBs to boss Dez Bryant tonight, can't see him dominating the way he has lately. Agree with all this. So what's it now? Dallas win - Dallas and Washington in. Washington win - Washington and Chicago in. ? Winner takes all, loser goes home!
leviramsey Posted December 31, 2012 VT Supporter Share Posted December 31, 2012 (edited) Cowboys/Redskins is the NFC East Championship Game. Redskins are also in if the Vikings and Bears lose. The Cowboys have been eliminated in the wildcard race. Vikings currently sit in the sixth spot. They are in the playoffs with either a win or losses by the Giants, Cowboys, and Bears. Bears are in with a win and Vikings loss to the Packers. Giants need a win and for the Cowboys, Vikings, and Bears to all lose. Vikings and Seahawks are the wild cards. Dallas and Washington can now only qualify by winning the division, i.e. win tonight. 1. Falcons 2. 49ers === 3. Packers 4. Redskins/Cowboys === 5. Seahawks 6. Vikings Edited December 31, 2012 by leviramsey
kkr
Fancy one of those wildcards to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl. Consolation for Giants if Cowboys win: Since tonight's Redskins-Cowboys game is meaningless to us, a Cowboys win would be better for us. A Cowboys win means we finish 3rd in the division. A Redskins win means we finish 2nd in the division. It's better to finish 3rd because not only will we have a better draft pick, but we get the 3rd place schedule next year, which is a big difference. The 2nd place schedule has to travel to New Orleans, and host Seattle. The 3rd place schedule has to travel to Carolina, and host St. Louis. kkr
Correction: 2nd place travels to Carolina and hosts Seattle. 3rd place travels to New Orleans and hosts St. Louis.
leviramsey Posted December 31, 2012 VT Supporter Share Posted December 31, 2012 (edited) Division placing has no effect on draft order. Draft order is determined by W-L record, regardless of division placing, and then by strength of schedule, and then by coin-toss. (well, and playoff teams are guaranteed to have the last 12 spots, regardless of whether a non-playoff team had a better record) Edited December 31, 2012 by leviramsey

leviramsey Posted December 31, 2012 VT Supporter Share Posted December 31, 2012 Draft order (spots 1-20) [counting ties as half-win, half-loss], before trades etc. 1. Chiefs (2-14 record, 132-124 SoS) 2. Jaguars (2-14 record, 138-118 SoS) 3. Raiders (4-12 record, 120-136 SoS) 4. Eagles (4-12 record, 130-126 SoS) 5. Lions (4-12 record, 145-111 SoS) 6. Browns (5-11 record, 130-126 SoS) 7. Cardinals (5-11 record, 143-113 SoS) 8. Bills (6-10 record, 123-133 SoS) 9. Jets (6-10 record, 131-125 SoS) [i believe that the Jets & Titans would be separated by a coin toss] 10. Titans (6-10 record, 131-125 SoS) 11. Chargers (7-9 record, 117-139 SoS) 12. Dolphins (7-9 record, 120-136 SoS) 13. Bucs (7-9 record, 128.5-127.5 SoS) 14. Panthers (7-9 record, 132-124 SoS) 15. Saints (7-9 record, 133.5-122.5 SoS) 16. Rams (7-8-1 record) 20. Bears (10-6 record) Spots 17-19 will be taken up by the 8-8 Steelers, the 9-7 Giants, and the Cowboys or Redskins. The Steelers' SoS is 120-136 The Giants' is 133.5-122.5 Cowboys win puts the Redskins into play at 9-7 with 125.5-130.5 SoS, so 17. Steelers 18. Redskins 19. Giants Redskins win puts the Cowboys into play at 8-8 with 132-124 SoS, so 17. Steelers 18. Cowboys 19. Giants A tie makes it 17. Steelers 18. Cowboys 19. Giants So no matter what happens tonight, the Giants are locked in for 19th pick.

kurtsimonw
and that's why yards and stuff aren't the be all and end all. Statistically, he's absolutely brilliant. But he just can't get it done when it matters.
claret75
Not hard. Congrats though. Best team won the division. Giants fans They deserved it in the end, played as a team and really want to play for each other. The DBs have improved no end and theres even a reliable placekicker in Forbath there now which has helped. As good as RG3 is, I like watching Alfred Morris and the OL just as much, his vision is grrrrrrreat! One of the form teams next, playing at home could make it close.
