KSV
Given is a better shot stopper. Guzan is better at commanding his area and collecting crosses. Guzan has been disappointing for me this season. (who hasnt though..) I would pick Given on form but long term its obviously Guzan.. do you maybe pick Given for a little while till he drops form and risk upsetting Guzan? Tough call. Not as clear cut as some may believe. Edited February 19, 2015 by KSV

Given has had one game where he made one excellent save. He didn't really have anything else to do. You can't claim that as good form. I love Given. I've been one of his hardest supporters on here. I've defended him a lot, for example when people blamed the Bradford defeat on him, which is ludicrous. But he's not better than Guzan, and one save doesn't change that. Agree with that although I dont think Guzan has had his best year season compared to previous ones
Stevo985 Posted February 19, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted February 19, 2015 I don't really disagree, but he hasn't been bad. Certainly not bad enough to be dropped.

HanoiVillan
Given starts this weekend Is that a prediction, or something revealed at a press conference?
StefanAVFC Posted February 19, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted February 19, 2015 If he does I'll be fuming. Guzan has done nothing to deserve being dropped.

KJT123
Guzan is the best keeper we have had in years.
NIVillan
Better to have someone who can organise a defense than one who doesnt and you hope is good enough to stop all the shots coming through.
VillaCas
Given starts this weekend Wouldn't have thought so - Sherwood has got enough to sort out elsewhere without dropping his most consistent player If Sherwood thinks that Given is better than Guzan I'll be very worried indeed
DCJonah
Would it be that crazy? Would certainly make every player realise straight away that they're all starting from fresh with the new manager and that performing keeps you in the team. Wouldn't be the worst mindset for the players to be in for the next 13 games.

It would be unfair to continue with Given when the only reason Guzan didn't play is because of rotation, not form or injury. Also, Guzan is a lot better. DCJonah
Yeah there is that but then I guess Sherwood can say he didn't pick the team so its not like he was the one giving given the chance.

If anything I'd hope Sherwood would pick the players based on what he sees in training this week.
DCJonah
Yeah, I'm not saying I want given to start I just wouldn't find it as crazy or as bad as others if he did.
