roonst83
Same team as against Spurs would mean a hug struggle for us I believe. Wigan are a decent footballing team. We need Vlaar, Gabby and Nzog back (in squad) for this. Regardless its a must win. Any way possible we just must win this.
Mantis
If we can't beat the teams around us then we are in really big trouble. We are at home and Wigan are crap ( especially away ) so anything less than a 2 goal win margin will be a loss as far as I am concerned. What so you'd be unhappy with a 1-0 win and would count that as a loss? Edited December 27, 2012 by Mantis
fightoffyour Posted December 27, 2012 VT Supporter Share Posted December 27, 2012 Yep that was an utterly ridiculous thing to say. A win in any way, shape of form is what we need.
parisvilla
Massive game, very worried we'll lose. Wigan have been extremely unlucky during the crap run of results they're currently mired in so only a matter of time until things start to go their way. BleedClaretAndBlue
Will any of the injured players be back and ready for Saturday ? Lambert has said none will be back for Saturday http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11677/8362911/Aston-Villa-boss-Paul-Lambert-could-be-missing-as-many-as-five-players-against-Wigan
sonic_bouma
what the **** is up with Vlaar? it feels like he has been out for about a year and Zogbia comes back and then **** off again man these injuries are pissing me off!!!!!!!!
maqroll
Not really sure what to expect at this point...the team is reeling. Considering it's Wigan and we're in a relegation battle, it's an absolute must win. Benteke has been invisible since Liverpool, Lambert will need to correct that
Harry
We will lose. Hate to say but we will. We cannot muster two central defenders. We have our powder puff central midfield and only one experienced striker to call on. Added to that we are so short on confidence I see Wigan winning by a two goal margin. Sorry but we are complete and utter shite at present and there is nothing positive to draw from any of the last two games. Added to that we are now ridiculed in the media and unless we address the glaring deficiencies in the squad in January we will be relegated. Happy days..... Daniel
Injuries are completely **** us right now. Without proper defenders we will lose. Can see Wigan Walking all over us with the squad we have now.
Morley_crosses_to_Withe
Wigan didn't disgrace themselves against Everton, whereas we'd have rolled over and had our balls tickled. They'll rampage across our powder puff midfield and will enjoy playing through our disjointed defence. 3-0 Wigan.
slovenian
I agree, we can't afford to lose this one. Zero points on saturday and zero (substantial) january reinforcements equals coca cola league for us :\
KjParton
This game has the importance of the Bolton game last season (which we lost at home - I know we didn't go down but it was still **** important)
Avflife
Probably end in a draw or a Wigan win, Kone with his pace will destroy our back 3/4 again. Least their midfield isn't full of monsters or skillful players, least that is an advantage 1-1 draw
AndyM3000
As long as Chris Herd isn't playing in the back line I will be happy.

8pints
I hope we win by at least four goals. I think we need to. I'm not saying we will just that I hope we do and think we need to.
