NYPD is preventing protestors getting to the airport now.

Also it's been discovered that his attack dogs, Bannon, Conway and Priebus, are now to attend National Security Council meetings, which previously was a no no. That's also extended to the Principals Committee, with the Joint Chief of Staff and Director of National Intelligence only asked to turn up when things concern them, despite previously having standing invites, as you'd expect of an interagency meeting. Which seems dodgy as ****.

I have ordered the Port Authority to reverse its decision regarding the JFK AirTrain. The people of New York will have their voices heard.

CNN just had a complete **** sock on who tried to claim this was preventing another 9/11 and anyone who disagreed was in favour of another 3000 Americans dying. Had no answer when it was noted that the ban doesn't include any nations that gave the world the 9/11 hijackers, just blowhard bullshit.

I hope that man gets a very unpleasant disease.

Federal judge blocks Trump immigration order:

The federal court for the Eastern District of New York has issued an emergency stay halting President Trump's executive order banning immigrants from seven Muslim-majority countries from entering the U.S, The Verge reported Saturday night.

The court ruled on a habeas corpus petition filed by the ACLU on behalf of two Iraqi men who were detained at John F. Kennedy International Airport on Friday after Trump's ban.

To flush out 'enemies' within? Governors who'll try to stand up to him, judges who'll go against the executive order?

Or perhaps they didn't just think it through beyond 'this will play well in Macomb County'?

Indeed. And perhaps not the ones from just those countries named at the moment.

I wonder where Mo Farah is at the moment?

Hanging out with a certain Aden, for the first time :D, most definitely not taking any prohibited substances whatsoever.

a. You've seen 'The Phantom Menace'?

b. Shooting from the hip and failing to do the homework?

Is there Insubordination in the Federal ranks?

Who knows?

Jinping and Putin, sat in Beijing and Moscow, on the blower to each other, watching CNN, feet up, pissing themselves.

Washington Post:

Judge Ann Donnelly of the U.S. District Court in Brooklyn granted a request from the ACLU to stay deportations of those detained on entry to the United States following President Trump's executive order.

And only minutes after the judge’s ruling in New York City, another came in Virginia when U.S. District Judge Leonie Brinkema issued a temporary restraining order to block the removal of any green card holders being detained at Dulles International Airport for seven days. Brinkema’s action also ordered that lawyers have access to those held there because of the president’s ban.

In Brooklyn, after a brief hearing in front of a small audience that filtered in from a crowd of hundreds outside, Donnelly determined that the risk of injury to those detained by being returned to their home countries necessitated the decision. She seemed to have little patience for the arguments presented by the government, which focused heavily on the fact that the two defendants named in the lawsuit had already been released. At one point, she visibly lost patience with a government attorney who was participating by phone.

Donnelly noted that those detained were suffering mostly from the bad fortune of traveling while the ban went into effect. "Our own government presumably approved their entry to the country," she said at one point, noting that, had it been two days prior, those detained would have been granted admission without question.

In the middle of the hearing ACLU attorney Lee Gelernt informed the court that he'd received word of an imminent deportation to Syria, scheduled within the hour. That prompted Donnelly to ask if the government could assure that the person would not suffer irreparable harm. Receiving no such assurance, she granted the stay to the broad group included in the ACLU's request.

After the decision was made, Donnelly asked the government if they could provide a list of those being detained to the ACLU. The government's attorneys indicated that they could not. "It is more difficult than it sounds," U.S attorney Susan Riley said.

Donnelly said that anyone from one of the seven countries who was in flight en route to the US when the order was signed and landed with a valid visa would be allowed to legally stay in the country.

The ACLU estimated that between 100 to 200 people around the country had been detained prior to the hearing. Government lawyers could not confirm that number.

The stay will last at least until a hearing scheduled for 21 February, the judge said. Donnelly ruled that the deportations could cause the plaintiffs “irreparable harm” by returning them to countries where they had been threatened, and noted that the plaintiffs included visa-holders who had already been approved for entry to the US.

I'll take a punt that this is hailed by Trump and his team as a win for them which legitimizes the executive order as the ruling only relates to those few (hundred?) who were in transit.

Spoke to a few American friends here in Oman last night. Safe to say they are nervous about what these developments may mean for Americans in the region.

That's a fair concern, imo.
