Everyone in the world suffered an inflation shock after covid and into the war in Ukraine. In the US it was much less severe than the rest of the developed world. They got inflation down much quicker than Europe. The UK was worse than others in the G7.

Thats why it’s not fair to say Biden is to blame for cost of living. It’s also not fair to diminish our leaders from the mess here as they handled it worse than orhers.

Trump was impeached twice as president. Plus a load of allegations of sexual assaults. Then also at 48 other potentially criminal offences.

Table in the Link

Don’t forget how he claimed the election was stolen, threatening judges, threatening vote counters and a small matter of inciting an insurrection. Remember the riots in Washington too (when he had a path cleared through the rioters so he could have a photo taken outside a closed church).

To suggest Biden’s years are as bad as Trumps is ridiculous and nothing to do with a difference of opinion.

Its like saying the last 5 years for Villa have been just as bad as Sha’s.

This is a worry for me with the UK election imminent. Everyone saying it's the death of the Tories etc as Labour will landslide. If Trump can be as bad as he was, but then be this close again so soon, what's to stop people jumping back to the Tories in 5 year's time because Labour hasn't fixed everything (which will be impossible based on what they're inheriting).

Trump represents a strong man, power, greed and selfishness. Biden is supposed to represent some sort of moral leadership and competency. Which side best represents America these days? I think it's Trump's version.

Do you mean best represents, as in represents what is best for the country, or just more accurately represents the reality on the ground?

Because the dynamics in UK politics are entirely different. For starters the Trump equivalent is Farage but the nitty gritty of that discussion isn’t for this thread

If they have a minimum age limit, why not a maximum one?

Why is a 'with-it' 30 year old more suitable than an 80 something year old who can't control his bowels?

Mad country.

30-year-old still 5 years away from being eligible for POTUS 😉

No immunity for 'unofficial acts'. What constitutes an 'official act' and were any of the charges related to the unofficial ones?

So another long drawn out argument about what constitutes official and what does not.

America is screwed. Trump gets back in and will 'official act' anything he wants. They are going to a very bad place.

Bad day in the history of America.

Unfortunately not just them

If that fascist gets back in 4 years after trying to launch an insurrection the whole world is heading to a dark place and Putin is laughing.

Sotomayor just summed it up..  Now the president can send a seal team 6 in to assassinate a political opponent and he can't be touched.

Surely Biden isn't going to look a gift horse in the mouth.

Yes that's the key piece. I think the ruling in isolation makes sense, when acting as President in an official capacity you have immunity.

Based on this ruling, Biden has at least 4 months in which time he can "officially" grassy knoll Trump, and any other MAGA terrorist who he might deem a national security threat.

Biden might as well dissolve the GOP and arrest any member who doesn't agree to enter a re-education camp.

He could grassy knoll Alito and Thomas and replace them with liberals, and also expand the court, and pack it with liberals.

He could start a mandatory gun buyback program and ban all firearms.

The Court has just crowned Joe Biden King Joe!
