He literally tried to end democracy in the country.

And people are prepared to give him another chance to do that.

How did go for him? It went the same way as it would if he tried to do it again, ending in failure.

If Trump wins, the whole world is f***ed. They'll renege on Nato and Russia will steam into Europe, China will invade Taiwan. They'll renege on Paris accords and Climate Change will ravage the middle Eastern countries and cause massive flooding and forest fires everywhere. America will be like idiocracy, as all semblance of evidence based education is disassembled.

Trump is going to win.

I think the worlds **** as it is though-we havent been closer to WW3. If trumps going to win which is looking likley (if biden isnt shoved out) then just need to hope he can at least try end some of these wars.

I still think bidens going to get removed now (probably they will say health reasons) then have newsom step in. He was there last night. Im sure if that were to happen newsom would gove the he didnt want to run speech but had to stop trump

Its not Trump personally which will be the problem; its who is around him which will be the problem. Jon Oliver covered this the other day which would be very worth a watch if you have Sky/Now TV (don't think it has made it to YouTube yet).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_2025

So this is a plan set up by the Heritage Foundation (conservative think tank) and basically sets out a blueprint to ensure that all of the administration are going to be conservative led for the foreseeable future and in essence turn America into an Autocracy. There are also suggestions that with the Supreme Court that 3 of the conservative leaning Judges will retire and be replaced by younger versions of themselves, holding the Supreme Court for decades.

Yes, the 1st Trump term didn't collapse America, but arguably it was not expected by many so it took time for people to abuse it. Now a 2nd term is real possibility and people are ready.

Without having seen Oliver on this, how do they see them replacing the Supreme Court justices? This has to be approved by the senate, which is now in the hands of the dems. I don’t know how many seats are up for election in the senate, but would assume these are different elections (the argument of old and senile is attached to Bidens persona).

Dems should run on abortion and could win both chambers as the republicans screwed it up in the house this term. Trump could end up a lame duck president.

I bet Trump can’t believe his luck, with his track record he’s in with a very real chance of winning the election. It’s absolute madness.

Considering some of Trump's White House aides expected him to be escorted out of the building in handcuffs the night of January 6, the current situation is simply unbelievable, and an indictment of our political system that he's been allowed to run for president again.

Yes we have. Cuban Missile Crisis.

How would that have ended, were it Trump instead of JFK? Either he would have allowed Russia to set up camp in Cuba, which would have ultimately led to WW3, or he would have gone gung ho, leading to WW3.

I think this is ott, honestly. I think it'd be a tragedy in America, stuffing the court with young conservative judges will damage the rights of us citizens for decades, but I'm not convinced we're going to see the collapse of NATO and China on the war path, we didn't last time

I think it is OTT but at the same time, the landscape of the World has changed quite considerably.

Trump (maybe the Republicans?  I don't follow US politics much) is an incredibly divisive figure with incredibly divisive views.  There were so many civil issues under his last presidency that - largely, unless just not publicised as much - seem to have "cooled" since.

Personally, him being president against makes me nervous - and those Biden clips are incredible; so it feels like a huge possibility.

A potential stumbling block in this scenario is if Kamala Harris wants the top job for herself too. You could end up with fractured party along racial lines at the convention with delegates at each other's throats and having it all beamed around the world, which would only strengthen Trump's position.

But first things first, get Biden the **** out of there, now.

Obama got elected, why can't Harris?

I think a 1/3 senate seats every election but in effect they current ones would simply step down and then Trump appoints until approve but I think the ideas also require either a tied or leaning GOP senate.

She's a woman, and the usa is a misogynistic society. she also lacks Obama's deft touch and authenticity. The person that can beat Trump has to project strength and a real desire to lock horns. I'm not sure Harris is that person.

Lucky the debate is far away from November as people's attention spans are so short that the debate would have moved on.

Well that is what the democrats would be praying on. Not a chance that Biden will withdraw. US politics seems to be in some of sort of death spiral.

They can't just hide him away though. He'll need to make appearances.

All because a bunch of **** wits couldn't just see that they needed a new man.

It is absolute madness that the best both parties can put forward is on one side a delusional, lying, dangerous, criminal who is 78 and on the other an 81 year old who clearly has some age related mental health issues and shouldn't be running a baked potato van never mind a country.

If the Democrats allow Trump to be elected again then shame on them. It doesn't have to be like this.

Yeah but they can raise the most money to campaign the election which requires hundreds of millions of dollars.  Doesn't matter if you are incoherent or an utter crook.

Ehhh. Hillary would’ve been president had she taken Trump seriously. People don’t want Kamala because of her personality. Plenty of people on both sides find her unlikeable. Michelle would be a much better option than her.
