I don't do twitter but they are screen grabbed on Sky news

I have absolutely no problem criticising Amy Schumer for not emigrating, but I keep scanning the skies for Katie Hopkins' plane, and it seems she hasn't emigrated either.

Celebrity in 'saying dumb shit' shocker.

EDIT: Sorry Tony, this wasn't really aimed at you. A more general comment was intended.

Pretty much.  He inherited his father's billions and an investments expert once said Trump would have more money today if he had invested the money in an index-linked investment and instead played tiddlywinks for his entire life.

Isn't there also the theory that he has paid no tax because he's losing money hand over fist and hasn't been eligible for tax in a decade?  Or something of that nature?  And therefore revealing that he's in fact a useless businessman would destroy his image and 'worth'.

It's interesting that many of his supporters seem to think he's a successful businessman, despite all the evidence of his business failures and the losses to his creditors and his investors caused by his serial bankruptcies.

Perception is always more important than fact.  He understands that in business, and has just demonstrated it in an election too.

But he wouldn't have a garish, gilded tower with his name on it...

How dare they protest against democracy failing! They should go and live in a dictatorship instead. Don't agree with rioting though. We live in a free world where opposition against the victor only helps move us forward, not a dictatorship where everyone has to sit back and accept it.

Do people read what they write before posting it?

Democracy failing?? why has democracy failed here? Because the person you wanted to win didnt win?

Plz tell me you are just joking.

You can say what you like about his policies, unproven allegations against him, his poor grasp of language. and his spray tan, but I think this assault on good taste is his real crime.

Image result for trump tower vegas

from memory , it's also the only hotel in Vegas without a Casino  ... that would be like opening a pub in Dublin and not serving alcohol

Hillary getting more votes and losing.

It isn't difficult. It isn't Trump's fault but is a fundamental failure of democracy. I'd say the same if it went the other way.

and FWIW I didn't particularly want Hillary to win.

She was competing in the same game as Trump though wasn't she. She knew the rules.

It's a silly system but they both knew what it took to win it.

Do you not understand the Electoral College system?

Democracies have many different electoral structures, you seem to be confusing a US Presidential Election with a referendum.

I understand the system and accept the result. Doesn't mean I have to agree with it. A candidate shouldn't be able to win the popular vote and lose an election. We have a similar system in the UK and I can't recall of any election where somebody won the popular vote and lost the GE.

As I said in my edit, I'd say exactly the same if Trump lost but won the popular vote.

I know and as I've said twice now, I'd say exactly the same if Trump lost but won the popular vote but lost the election.

It's a fundamental failure of democracy either way.

Yes, this is true.

OTOH, though, it doesn't mean the system shouldn't be changed.
