This bank has been well known to be in a risky position for quite some time. Maybe not the full story in my response but you were wrong as well as you were indicating Yellen was bailing them out which is not really the case reading in detail of how they are doing it, so it is disingenuous saying she’s spraying the money around once the proposal is read in detail. They have created a new implied backstop. They changed the rules such that those who would have lost money in the old system, now no longer do so. This is a bail-out for those with holding in excess of $250k. BTW, there are over $0.5T in the same debt instruments that killed SVB on the books of the broader US financial system. All of this is losing value with rates near 5%.

I meant bailing out the bank not the depositors, they aren’t bailing out the bank. They are also not using taxpayer money to do it.

Wages are only falling because they abandoned the wall.

I think because it's what the Republican politicians and their media will say almost verbatim, they dont even try to hide it....always pivot to Trump better, immigration/wall and woke....whatever the topic, use those words in the sentence when a question is asked. As a non-American I love watching the US media because politicians get knotted up trying to get those words in and their media counterparts are just the same on every topic...The left have their things as well but the right are in full blown bonkers at the moment. Everything they dislike is woke, every issue is because of the wall....and now some want to invade Mexico. Some of interviews are just bonkers at the moment. I just think that Republicans have a few topics that they have issue with but dont seem to know how to provide good arguments, give good interviews or get the message across properly aside from stoking up the MAGA base which they have on their side already. They arent going to get enough of the rest of the voters the way they are presenting their arguments at the moment. 4 hours ago, villakram said: Any president is in electoral peril if the economy is not working for the electorate. Plenty of good stats though that will get him reelected from the continuing new jobs monthly reports and the many accomplishments he's achieved. Republicans could attack Biden on many things but they are getting in their own way too much at the moment to entice enough swing voters their way even if the economy has some issues over the next 18 months. Just wondering who can take out Trump on the Republican side, there doesn’t seem anybody that can at the moment (still plenty of time though). DeSantis so far seems like the only one but not sure he’s going to do so well on the national stage yet, or can he take on Trump in a fight that with ensue or even if he can take on Biden. I think most of Trump’s rivals are probably hoping Trump gets indicted more than Democrats, giving them a chance
