snowychap
US expands powers to deport migrants without going to court Quote The US government is introducing a new fast-track deportation process that will bypass immigration courts. Under the new rules, migrants who cannot prove they have been in the US continuously for more than two years can be immediately deported. Until now, expedited deportations could only be applied to those detained near the border who had been in the US for less than two weeks. ... the new rules state that people can be deported regardless of where in the country they are when they are detained, and without allowing them access to a lawyer. ... full article on link So not just without going to court but without legal advice/representation. peterms
One of the strangest things was Mueller's claim that he was "not familiar" with Fusion GPS, the firm that produced the Steele dossier. This claim is literally incredible. He's spent two years leading the world's highest-profile investigation into matters that could lead to the removal of the president. The Steele dossier was central to the allegations. It's not a minor matter of little interest like a random conversation at a bus stop last October, it's fundamental to what has been occupying his entire attention for two years. Assuming he's not spent the last two years watching netflix and eating cheeseburgers while others did everything, then of course he's familiar with Fusion. Claiming otherwise can only create the impression either that he's lying, or that there's a serious issue of mental capacity.

It really did look like he's mentally unwell. Putting him up there did Democrats no favours whatsoever. They probably should have pushed for impeachment for the obstruction stuff and walled off the Russia stuff straight after the report came out, but Pelosi has deliberately missed the window and now all they're doing is showcasing their own timidity and indecisiveness.

Quote Attorney General William Barr Directs Federal Government To Reinstate Death Penalty Attorney General William Barr has directed the Federal Bureau of Prisons to resume capital punishment, nearly two decades after the death penalty was last used at the federal level. “Congress has expressly authorized the death penalty through legislation adopted by the people’s representatives in both houses of Congress and signed by the President,” Barr said in a statement. “Under Administrations of both parties, the Department of Justice has sought the death penalty against the worst criminals, including these five murderers, each of whom was convicted by a jury of his peers after a full and fair proceeding. villakram
One can have a moral or ethical position on this, but there is a form of equality at play now. The federal government is making US citizens more and more like their foreign friends/enemies everyday... equality

Meanwhile, white nationalist terrorism has claimed its 20th body this year today in the California mass shooting. It's very clear where this administration stands.
