Jon
Love this. Real and amazing instruments - historic, electronic, architectural and even geological. Top notch players and singers. It's been made the hard way - they lugged an analogue reel to reel around the globe, rather than simply dipping into sample banks. Can't fault it: conception, songwriting, instrumentation, vox, arrangements and production - A*** Serious Hi Fi that It doesn't take itself seriously. Youtube doesn't do the production justice - It's SWEET. OK Xann. I've just ordered this on the strength of your recommendation, and after having read a review of if. Seems right up my street. A bit leftfield (not the band) and a bit 'Husky rescue'-ish? Knowing your musical preferences on here, I feel safe that this will be a worthy purchase. Keyblade
That Om record kicked ass. I'll have to look over what I've listened to this year, and come up with a list. Mostly I've been listening to 90s emo/art rock/hardcore ala Tintoretto, Shroomunion, Patterns Make Sunrise, et al so the stuff I've listened to this year is a bit hazy...apart from the new Kylie Minoise full length. I remember that one real good. Om's album is awesome as per usual. Love that band. And Kylie Minoise? That's such a great name .
islingtonclaret
If anyone has listened to the Dark Horses LP, let me know what it's like. Having co-production from Pablo Clements from UNKLE and Richard Fearless from Death in Vegas looks like the making of a MEGA album...

chappy
There are quite a few albums which I have liked but need to give a few extra listens to before declaring them as my 'favourites' of the year as that seems a little silly after just one or two listens so this list will be added to by the likes of Frank Ocean, Plan B, Jessie Ware, Mellowhype, Nas, Emili Sandi but at the moment: Maximo Park - The National Health Jack White - Blunderbuss Mystery Jets - Radlands The Maccabees - Given To The Wild Reverend and the Makers - @Reverend_Makers Odd Future - OF Tape Vol.2 Spent much of this year listening to older stuff. CarewsEyebrowDesigner
Jesus, that Swans album is a struggle. Good endurance training listening to that and Godspeed's latest back to back. Training for what I'm not sure. Perhaps if you are starting a new job in a building site, perhaps inside a cement mixer itself.

GarethRDR
I was trying to avoid doing this, but it's no good. I'm revising the list. Future Of The Left - The Plot Against Common Sense ▼ 4. Mutiny On The Bounty - Trials ▼ 5. The Samuel Jackson Five - The Samuel Jackson Five ▼ 6. DIIV - Oshin ***NEW ENTRY*** 7. leebarnett2004
The album that I've really enjoyed this year, and actually like every song on it is Mumford and sons - babel. Their old album is also very good
