andym
Shows what a good manager does. Yes they've got some very good players like Neves and Jota, but they've also got some shite like Conor Cody, Matt Docherty, Roman Saiss etc Yet 2 games in a row they've apparently played the opposition of the park with a good standard of exciting football, while remaining solid at the back. Popular Post Tomaszk
Similar backing to us. They've just got a manager on a different planet. One with a plan. Doesn't have "English league experience", neither do any of their signings. Football is football. If you pass the ball well, and go at teams, you're going to win matches. He also had a pre-season and that's it. Not 9 months plus a pre-season. You utter failure Bruce.
VillaChris
Looked excellent counter attacking on the highlights, Neves in the number 10 role looks class.
Dr_Pangloss
So, they were atrocious last season, but with the right manager they are now winning games and playing really good football, having spent a similar amount on players as us. Just goes to show the importance of getting the right manager in. Sadly, our owner has repeated **** this decision up and as a result we have spent incredible sums on money on poor players and look no where near promotion candidates. Morley_crosses_to_Withe
They seem to have people from the owner downwards who actually have a clue. Edited August 13, 2017 by Morley_crosses_to_Withe
HanoiVillan
They'll get automatic promotion IMO. Disappointing the manner in which they've done it, but they're very good.
mikeyp102
It's a good start, but these type of signings normally fade in the winter months and when games come thick and fast. Be interesting to see if they keep it up.
Farlz
Said it in the match thread the other day but I'm really jealous Wolves have Nuno as manager, was impressed when they hired him. Would love someone like him at Villa.
Rugeley Villa
Hope wolves do well. They were always our rivals for me because I grew up with a lot of them, and there was a time in my youth where I disliked them. Decent club and hope they can achieve some success, but not at our expense.

They were much stronger and I thought then they would do well. It weren't to be though. Can't see them getting automatic, but play offs yes. Keyblade
Wolves are probably my favorite of all the Midlands team. Their stint in the PL was pretty entertaining too, wouldn't mind seeing them back (along with us of course).
OutByEaster? Posted August 15, 2017 Moderator Share Posted August 15, 2017 I don't know how much depth they've got - but Wolves look to me like a team that can think about going up this season. Which makes me sad.

villaglint
One thing I don't understand is how Wolves are doing this from an FFP standpoint. If we are so hard up against it how can they spend this kind of money when they don't have the two years PL losses allowance that we have? By my reckoning in transfer fees alone they've spent £45m net in the last two windows. I thought the three year loss was £36m for Championship teams? Dr_Pangloss
They are extremely dodgy but one things for sure is that the seem to have got things right in terms of manager and now player acquisition.
