Dalian
A song to get the hairs stand on the back of the neck is needed. We need a Never Walk alone style song to sing like a slightly reworded version of Danny boy. Oh Villa boys, the fans, the fans are calling From glen to glen, and down to Villa Park The summer's gone, and all the flowers are dying 'Tis you, 'tis you that lifts me out the dark. But come ye back when summer's in the meadow Or when the valley's hushed and white with snow 'Tis I'll be here in sunshine or in shadow Oh Villa boys, oh Villa boys, I love you so. And if you come, when all the flowers are dying And I am proud, as proud I well may be You'll come and find the place where I’ll be singing And stand and sing "AV" for me. And I shall hear, the fans who sing above me And all my dreams will warm and sweeter be If you'll not fail to tell me that you love me I'll simply stand in peace until you come to me. I'll simply stand in peace until you come to me.

Condimentalist
"Spizz - the sun never sets on aston villa". the music is dire Agree totally. Needs HUGE revamp. If not, Sabbath please.
villab0y
Who cares what that recording sounds like, give it a few games and the whole ground will be louder than that shitty P.A system. Its the only one suggested that has anthem qualities.
chips'ngravy
"Spizz - the sun never sets on aston villa". the music is dire agree - too contrived for my liking I'd prefer something low key like Hurricane Smith with the Villa faithful creating the real noise when the players come out. Shouldn't really need music at all to create atmosphere at a football match.
chips'ngravy
Changed my mind - think it should be something from Sabbath on reflection. It'd be great to see the team running out to a crowd moshing to Paranoid. Ok maybe it's 30 years too late for that kind of reception. But anyway, of the five suggestions made then Sabbath are the only ones that carry any kudos. The Spizz one is cringeworthy and would have the opposition fans taking the piss out of us for years. Coming out to Sabbath would, on the other hand, draw respect rather than ridicule.
spizzenergi
Does anyone know which Sabbath members are Villa fans because I am told that Ozzy is a Blues fan - Not that I would want to sway anyones opinion - I do think re-recording the song is a viable idea and it could be available via the club shop. I've also remembered that I wanted to give the media an alternative to rent-a-moron Villa muso Nigel Kennedy.
Grievemeister
I thought Ozzie was a Villa fan. He was a 1000/1 to be next Villa manager when O'Leary got the sack
Straggler
There are very few good songs in the world of football and the Spizz song is a case in point. I voted for the ride of the Valkyries, but I would prefer to have our team to walk out to the approving roar of the fans and sod the music all together. ChrisVillan
Ozzy was no Villa fan. He knew some rather well though
chips'ngravy
Ozzy's no bluenose. Doesn't really come across as a big football fan but would call himself a Villa fan above any other team I reckon. He was born in Aston after all. Geezer Butler is the big Villa fan and I think Bill Ward is the other one.
ChrisVillan
He'd say Villa I'm pretty sure, but as far as I'm aware footy's not exactly his thing. Iommi's Villa as well I think, could be well wrong on that.
ianrobo1
teh two front runners are clear and I prefer the Ride of the Valkyries for the dramtic appeal of the music. Spizz, I would be swayed more by your song if it could be more dramatic, is this possible do you think ?
pablopicasso
i vote the sun never sets on aston villa... its unique towards the villa and could become our anthem.... (its certainly better than that 'blowing bubbles' shit they have at the shammers...) a full ground on a champions league night all singing this would baffle the shit out of the opposition and give a great atmosphere...
