maqroll
Any hoops fans? Any teams you support? Any players you hate? Any predictions you care to make? Let me know if you'd want to do a VT fantasy league, I'll set one up on Yahoo if we get enough interest
leviramsey Posted October 30, 2012 VT Supporter Share Posted October 30, 2012 I generally ignore the Association until the playoffs. NFL through January, then college hoops through March, and that sets things up nicely for the NBA playoffs. The NHL gets a consistent second interest from me throughout that period, for whatever that's worth (not much this season).
kurtsimonw
First time in a few years I can look forward to the Nets. Will be nice to have a decent team in our first year in Brooklyn.

maqroll
First time in a few years I can look forward to the Nets. Will be nice to have a decent team in our first year in Brooklyn. They should have changed the name "Nets" to something else....that way, you allow New Jersey the chance to get a team back and call them the Nets some day. Brooklyn dropped the ball on the rebranding. They got the color scheme alright, but they needed a total rebranding including a new name...
kurtsimonw
I think it's a tough one. They're still sort of in the same market really and rebranding is usually done when a team just ups and leaves completely. Fans who used to go to games can still go without much trouble. So Ray played against Boston and put in a great performance. The Dirk-less Mavs beat the Lakers in LA, Dwight and a mare, fouling out in his LA debut. AVFCforever1991
Toronto, only reason because I was born there. They still terrible? I don't follow.
kurtsimonw
Not terrible, but bad. Probably finish bottom of the division. Lakers 0-2 to start the season. Ha.

maqroll
The Nets picked a bad year to move to Brooklyn: The Knicks are undefeated...
kurtsimonw
Knicks 7-1. Probably a good thing. Nets playing great and under the radar, probably what we need no pressure.
maqroll
The Knicks-Nets game should draw some of the biggest TV numbers for a regular season game in some time...Brooklyn vs Manhattan, essentially.
leviramsey Posted November 19, 2012 VT Supporter Share Posted November 19, 2012 This would be the first Brooklyn-Manhattan game (at a major professional level) since, what, the last Giants-Dodgers game of 1957?
maqroll
It must be. There will be more celebs there than at a title fight...should be a bit of a circus.
kurtsimonw
Stayed up for the Nets last night, okay win but still 2nd half issues. First time the Nets have been 4 games over .500 since April 2006!
