villarule123 Posted October 18, 2013 VT Supporter Share Posted October 18, 2013 Such a shame Michael Johnson, he really had a lot of talent. Also had a talent for eating Big Macs
Jimzk5
Sam Hutchinson was also a great prospect, still playing but destroyed by knee injurys
Zatman
think was just a bunch of random names taken from football manager in 2007. 5 of them still are on books off top 4 but only Walcott and Richards you can say plays for any of the top teams. The Fun Factory
Views on Dyke's commission? Why complain over a week it was announced? Very political. I reckon Dyke is too outspoken, to last long. I give him 18 months.
Voinjama
Monkeygate has taken a new twist. It now appears that Andros Townsend was upset by the monkey comment made by Hodgson. The player who leaked the comments has confirmed to said journalist that the player was upset by the comment.
villa4europe
I think the commission is a lot better now they've added the last member to be fair it'll be hard to judge the commission because the media are too busy reporting some racism nonsense rather than using the column inches to actually explain whats its meant to be doing... think part of it is aimed at making sure young players are getting through, not sure how you measure that and how you claim you've improved it, think the disparity between young Asians playing and the number of Asians playing at the highest level is pretty obvious and needs fixing (that's no doubt why they've called up the Asian community expert rio Ferdinand ) the number of coaches needs fixing BUT - the England manager picking form players rather than big names wont be fixed - players wanting to play every week for mid table teams rather than 1 in 4 for a top 4 team wont be fixed - capping the number of foreigners in academies let alone 1st teams wont be fixed - 18 year olds on millions a year and effectively "making it" wont be fixed - over rating / valuing / paying of English players wont be fixed - star players not performing in tournaments (rooney in south Africa) wont be fixed there is also a lot of bullshit being said and written by people who come across as being bitter about not getting the invite (stan collymore for example) and unsurprisingly with it being England a lot of people will be waiting to shoot this down Edited October 20, 2013 by villa4europe

Voinjama
Yeah Townsend said in public he was not offended by the comment, but behind closed doors in the changing room apparently he offended by the remark. This is according to the snitch who ran to the press.
PaulC
Townsend didn't sound too convincing in his interview that he wasn't offended. I sensed that he was really!

The_Steve
Tom Cleverly is clearly first name on the team-sheet. Amazed how Delph was overlooked. **** off, England.
BOF Posted November 7, 2013 Moderator Share Posted November 7, 2013 Jay Rodriguez in the England squad. He has been very good for the Saints. We shouldn't laugh at this kind of inclusion because it's the kind that should happen more often, namely getting in on form and merit. It's just a pity Delph didn't get in off the same reasoning.
