Chindie Posted October 7, 2012 VT Supporter Share Posted October 7, 2012 That's an attacking line up for an away game. I think we'll be exposed at the back. I think we'd be exposed at the back regardless of line-up, sadly.
CI
Happy we go with 11 hard working players on the field Bent can either knuckle down or **** off as far as I'm concerned
dudevillaisnice
I just don't think we're good enough to not play Darren Bent. Hope I'm wrong and Benteke grabs an early goal to settle his confidence but it seems a very odd selection to me. agree it's even more bizzare that Benteke had a poor game last time out and starts ahead of him. Anyway let's hope i'm proven wrong.
AVFCforever1991
Can't believe Bent has started on the Bench again.. Most of that spurs team played in mid-week so they can't be 100%
Jimzk5
ill start the delph injury pool then... ill say 34th minute ankle injury, out for 9 weeks.
jacketspuds
Bent has 2 in 2. Not sure i agree with Lambert's management of him so far. Can't see him being here come Feb 1st.
Mantis
Now I'm pissed off with Lambert. He really shouldn't have left Bent on the bench.
Dr_Pangloss
Personally I would have liked to have seen Benteke and Albrighton benched. Lambert got a great reaction from Bent last week and Bent could have brought that momentum into this game. Albrighton I just don't rate in general, although the alternative is N'Zogbia so..... Anyway the physical presence of Gabby and Benteke should give the Spurs back 4 plenty to think about, hopefully Benteke's touch will be a lot better this week. Let's not forget that although Gabby and Benteke looked pretty poor together last week they did work well away at City in the cup... The main worry is obviously Spur's quality and speed going forward. Bale usually gives us hell, Lennon's pace will also be a massive threat against our relatively inexperienced full backs. AVFCforever1991
although the alternative is N'Zogbia so..... Played better than Albrighton Last week. But I see why Lambert would want Albrighton, for his work rate..
Dr_Pangloss
Played better than Albrighton Last week. But I see why Lambert would want Albrighton, for his work rate.. Yep he'll cover the fullback better, that's for sure.
R.Bear
I think Benteke will only get a half if he isnt playing well. Lambert wont waste any time bringing on Bent.
CI
I think Benteke will score today
sonic_bouma
hopefully Lambert has told Albrighton to cut out the shit floaty corners this week.. ill be soo annoyed if they continue, such a basic thing to cut out, how can it be ignored? AVFCforever1991
I guess it means Bent will be even more motivated when he comes of the bench, to get a goal against his old club.
Jarpie
Dropping Bent to the bench again is pretty dangerous, I can see him leaving on january or summer if someone comes with high enough price. But I can understand the thinking behind playing Benteke and Gabby as they have much more physical presence than Bent.
