daggy_333
Not really happy with Bent on the bench again. I wonder if Lambert is trying to make Bent think about moving on in January?
swaib2004
Surprised about albrighton I'd have had Holman on right with bale playing there and surprised bent on bench. Also shame friedels record has ended.
sonic_bouma
same team that started against Baggies mmm i thought we were poor for large parts of that game so was expecting a couple of changes i think Bents comments have made it easy for Lambert to put him on the bench for another game ive got no problems with Benteke starting ahead of him today, i think he will be much more useful
PieFacE Posted October 7, 2012 VT Supporter Share Posted October 7, 2012 Hmmm..... think we'll get over-run in midfield today. We should be playing 5 in midfield. They are going to batter us.

dudevillaisnice
Dropping Bent again is very poor, we are not in a position to "teach someone a lesson" we need points it's as simple as that and he scores goals.

Bent can be a complete passenger sometimes particularly away from home, Benteke will be much more in their faces and we simply have to have gabbys pace in there at least people have a ready made excuse if we lose when in reality we have just as much chance of winning without Bent
Laivasse
Starting Gabby and Benteke is a good idea IMO. Benteke needs a few games in a row to build up his rhythm in a new league and Gabby's less likely than Bent to go missing in this kind of game. Might cool off Bent's billy big bollocks attitude if he's developing one, too.
AndyM3000
If Bent doesn't score we pretty much play with 10 men, which we cant afford to do against Spurs. When we look for an out ball Benteke and Gabby will offer a lot lot more than Bent could. Bent hardly ever wins headers/holds it up, etc.

R.Bear
I love how people are saying Bent should be playing when he has been shit in every game except that the last one.

sonic_bouma
in the way he scored last game and saved us? whilst Benteke was having a hard time to adapt? fair enough, but we cant just look at the last game when it comes to Bent in my mind he is much more likely to go missing in this game than win it for us Benteke wasn't great last time out but before that game he has proved a handful with his power and gabbys pace we offer more of a threat IMO
PompeyVillan
That's an attacking line up for an away game. I think we'll be exposed at the back.
sharkyvilla
I just don't think we're good enough to not play Darren Bent. Hope I'm wrong and Benteke grabs an early goal to settle his confidence but it seems a very odd selection to me.
chappy
Bent should be starting today. Aside from that I'm pretty happy with the team. Hope Albrighton has a blinder.
