Hopefully we will go with Jedinak and Tshibola in the middle. Just when we think we might be rid of one problem in westwood, enter jedinak. sonic_bouma
Sick and tired of seeing this wet lettuce in our midfield.
Phumfeinz
This guy pisses me off. Two opportunities to get the ball and clear it in our box in quick succession and both times he backed off because he didn't want to get clattered by the Newcastle player trying to get the ball. And then when Ayew went on that run from deep in our own half all the way to their box, he was nowhere to be seen offering no support whatsoever. I really, really hope Tshibola and Jedinak is our preferred midfield pairing because this pathetic wuss should never wear a Villa shirt again.

Jedinak doesn't seem to be much of an improvement, to be fair.
Villaninireland
Yet another inept performance today. He offers nothing to the team. The best thing he did today was get substituted.
StefanAVFC Posted September 24, 2016 VT Supporter Share Posted September 24, 2016 Woeful first half, much better second half. Jedinak was much worse.
HeyAnty
39:20 min he pulled out of ball on edge of box and nearly resulted in a goal. Chester went beserk with him. He is not only useless but gutless to
jackbauer24
It there is still anyone who thinks Westwood should be automatically dropped then they just need to look at the performance of Jedinak today, he was truly awful. In fact Jedinak made me question my stance on him replacing Gardner today! Jedinak plays worse and worse each game. Westwood is what he is and may well be improved on in 2017 but at the moment, like the fact or not, he's still one of our best midfielders. Obviously our midfield is awful so it's not necessarily saying much but he currently has to start.

Slow as a cart horse all the same.
DCJonah
Jedinak was poor but he can still add a bit of a physical presence in midfield.

I think we need more to be honest. The onus is on us to win games, dominate and break teams down. Not sure how much use Jedinak will be this season.
PieFacE Posted September 24, 2016 VT Supporter Share Posted September 24, 2016 Just such a nothing player. Tried hard again, can't fault him for that. We need so much more. Tish is twice the player and is about 5 years younger. Westwood just has no influence on the game at all.
Davkaus
We may as well play 4-2-4 and skip centre mid entirely with this useless word removed and Jedinak in there.

He's basically been a worse Westwood. Better in the air though, granted.
Villarocker
Jedinak was very poor in parts but he did improve towards the end, especially when Tshibola got into the game. I'm sorry but Westwood is the common denominator when trying to work out why our midfield has been so weak and non-creative for the last few seasons. He just offers nothing of any note during most games he plays in. He needs to be replaced permanently and so does Gardner, as he is pretty much the same type of player. We need to sign a dynamic midfielder or two in January to accompany Jedinak and Tshibola.
bobzy
Jedinak was **** woeful for the entire game. Absolute cack. Westwood was incredibly poor, but nowhere near as bad. We probably need to stick with 3 midfielders in the middle of the park.
villa89
Terrible again today and scared of his own shadow as per usual. Bottling challenges left right and center. Not good enough.
GeordieVillan
Sadly he's been a common factor in Villa's midfield for the past few years, possibly the worst midfield in my 30 years following Villa. He still has a role to play, but I think it should only be as back up or from the bench.
Popular Post sidcow Posted September 24, 2016 VT Supporter Popular Post Share Posted September 24, 2016 Noticed some quality pointing today. Some of it was in the direction where he could have moved to in order to receive the ball if he hadn't have been walking slowly whilst pointing.
