Popular Post Keyblade
Easily has the best and most consistent first touch in the team. Considering he came from League 2 (!), he's been an absolutely outstanding buy.
ROTTERDAM1982
Agree DC, at home that midfield is not creative enough.
Bunnski
The midfield is fine, it's what is playing up ahead of them is the problem. Weimann is poison and gives away possession nearly every time the ball goes near him, Gabby is extremely hit and miss and does the odd good thing and Zog is similar. It's hard for a midfield to look good in an attacking sense when our forwards can't keep the ball!
Robbie09
He brought another down from out the sky like he did against Newcastle last season. The guy has an absolutely superb first touch. As I've said before in this thread, he's the first name on the teamsheet in midfield for me. Wholeheartedly agree
packoman
Played really good today, was involved much more than last week.
Isa
He was very good in the first-half. Really got stuck in and made quite a few tackles. That flick on was sumptuous too.
Brumerican
One of our most technically gifted and intelligent footballers and he cost peanuts .
PandaMac
Maybe we can get him to be player-coach and have him show andi and gabby how to control a ball.
Stevo985 Posted August 23, 2014 VT Supporter Share Posted August 23, 2014 I missed it but my mate text me asking if I'd seen "that" touch from Westwood. If anyone can gif it I'll give them one whole like.

Stevo985 Posted August 23, 2014 VT Supporter Share Posted August 23, 2014 No not that one. There was one early in the game. I didn't see it but hoping someone did!
sir_gary_cahill
i thought he was excellent today, i wish he'd play like that more often, he was so much footballing ability, he should influnce games more than he does
Villarocker
I have to admit to not always being a fan but this lad played well today and has a great touch on him. But, sort out those set pieces please!
bradarmstrong_
Think both he and Delph had a good game in front of the England manager. I fully expect him to continue picking the likes of Tom Cleverly but think they both would have put themselves in his thinking after today . little_wizard123
He was brilliant but i don't think we have enough going forward with a midfield 3 of sanchez, delph and Westwood. Pretty much this - definitely true if two of the players ahead of this trio are Agbonlahor and Weimann. But it'd be interesting to see how Westwood and Delph play with a strong DM behind them, as they're two of the more creative guys in our squad, and could be useful going forward. dn1982
He was brilliant but i don't think we have enough going forward with a midfield 3 of sanchez, delph and Westwood. Seeing as they've only played about 20min I think you should give them a bit more time together. Sanchez is more athletic so should enable Westwood and Delph to push more with better movement up front Westwood will find them as he's a very good passer. maqroll
Hodgson was at the game today, and other than Delph, the only other player of interest to him would have to be Westwood. An England call up could really help his confidence.
ROTTERDAM1982
If people expect Westwoodto be the creative midfielder that we have been craving for the last few years then i'm afraid they are going to be very disappointed.Hes not that kind of player, hes a sitting midfielder who likes to sit in front of the back 4 and just keep things ticking along. Its him or Sanchez for me, alongside Delph, plus a better attacking midfielder.Cole atm is our best bet. HanoiVillan
He was good, but I agree with those saying that it should be him or Sanchez at home. Too defensive otherwise. There's already too big of a gap between midfield and strikers at VP.
