Big_John_10
Wonder if the people so concerned with the so called abuse towards bennet felt the same about Mcleish.
Popular Post markavfc40
Wonder if the people so concerned with the so called abuse towards bennet felt the same about Mcleish. I think there is a big difference though BJ in that McLeish was old enough, wise enough and big enough to take it on the chin. Joe Bennett was 22 years old last season. A young player trying to adapt to playing at a higher level in a struggling side, leaking goals aplenty alongside other defenders also still trying to adapt to playing at a higher level. On top of all that abuse from supporters was and is the last thing the lad needs.
HeyAnty
If Bennett is to have any future at Villa he needs to put on 2-3 stone. He is handy with ball at feet. As i said before Drogba sh1tes the size of Bennetts for breakfast.
momo
Wonder if the people so concerned with the so called abuse towards bennet felt the same about Mcleish. I feel the same with all of them. Constructive criticism is fine, but over the top abuse is not.
AVTuco Posted September 17, 2013 VT Supporter Share Posted September 17, 2013 What's the point in abusing your own players? I think it's criminal.
Villarocker
There's no need for the abuse. The simple fact is the lad was very poor last season. So poor that people were actually wishing we still had Warnock at left back! If he gets a game, he really needs to perform and then keep performing for the rest of the season. If he can't do that he is of no use to us.
LondonVillian
Guy is pony - so what if he is a young player - lowton is a young player he did well last season
lp_villa830
I don't think it matters who we play at full back. With the formation we play, in games are backs are not against the wall and the likes of Gabby and Weimann are sitting back they are are always going to be isolated and look poor. villaguy
In my opinion he should on current form be ahead of Luna, result tonight didn't matter as we had so many of our top players missing. Anyway, Bennett had a good enough game
StefanAVFC Posted September 24, 2013 VT Supporter Share Posted September 24, 2013 Kept a 32m man silent tonight so by forum logic he's worth more that! we're in the money
Isa
Wasn't really tested much today but solid enough. Would start him vs City.

OutByEaster? Posted September 24, 2013 Moderator Share Posted September 24, 2013 I thought he was our best player tonight - he's still lightweight, but he's balanced, quick, energetic and could still come good. I think him and Luna are much of a muchness about now, although I'd probably stick with Luna because he's got a beard.

deeps
Looked good tonight. Looks like he's putting his head down in training to improve.
turnbull
Hopefully, the fact that he has a rival for his place will improve his game. And hopfully the fact that Luna can see the same will sharpen his too.
Cambridge-AVFC
He's been on the up ever since the Bradford game I think. There is no doubt he is a better player and as I said before, I have no worrys about playing him at left back now. But Luna is better.
ciggiesnbeer
A spurs friend of mine was at the game tonight. He messaged me saying we were utterly awful and we should be very worried with our crap team, aside from "that left back kid he looked really good." So if you care about the opinion of someone who supports the chicken heads there you go. Edited September 25, 2013 by ciggiesnbeer
