peterms
And I'm sure WW2 Swiss Army pistols are standard issue for Mossad agents. One of Mossad's standard issue weapons (I believe they use more than one) is a Beretta which coincidentally takes the 7.65mm ammunition used in these killings. So you were close. But I'm sure the tests will show that even if the ammunition is the same, it came from a different gun. Now, if you were in charge of a team of professional killers planning to kill a small group of unarmed people, and you wished to conceal your involvement, would you decide to use for this mission a) a weapon which unequivocally identifies you as the killers, or b ) a weapon which looks like someone else did it. It's a tough one, isn't it? And if you were the driver of a green 4x4, or a motorbike, or a white Peugeot, and you had been driving within a kilometer of where a quite extraordinary and widely reported murder took place, and you were doing said driving the same afternoon it happened, is it possible that you might have learned about this incident by virtue of not being a hermit living in a cave, have realised that your vehicle sounds a little like one of the ones mentioned as being in that place at that time, and come forward so the police could eliminate you from their enquiries and not waste time on irrelevant things? No? You might not even notice the coincidence, or your attention might be caught by a passing butterfly, and you forget all about it. Perhaps it's best not to think about these things at all, and to say that people who are concerned by them must be wearing tin foil on their heads, and worrying about lizards. That should do the trick. Now, what's on telly?

CI
The report says the shots were fired from a single gun . Hilli was outside the car when the shootings started, he bolted for car reversed into layby where the rear axel became wedged allowing the killer(s) to access the vehicle and administer the shots and reload twice
peterms
There's been a breakthrough in the investigation. The detective in charge says they think they are looking for people capable of extreme violence, and who have access to weapons. I am reassured by his professionalism and powers of deduction. CI
You can even see how Mossad would have made it look like a botch job when in effect it was far from it. Clever stuff.
peterms
Latest piece of misdirection: New al-Hilli murder theory: it was a tourist-hating serial killer What next? It was the long-lost love child of Lord Lucan and Shergar, an embittered centaur called Dobbie, forced to inhabit remote woods far from human sight, in shame over his less-than-human form, and angered that his lair had been disturbed? Tell us about the D notice, chaps.

peterms
No, a solution is to hand. They are questioning today's Swiss shooter about the al-Hilli case, on the grounds that he's Swiss, and has been known to kill people in Alpine villages. The lone psychopath theory re-emerges. http://www.telegraph...lps-murder.html
