CI
Yep the value of Upton park will be easily £100m I'd have thought
AvfcTheObsession
its all about making a few quid selling off upton park IMO. thats why pornodwarf left blues when it was obvious birmingham city council wouldnt fund a shiny new stadium for them Quite right too from Bham City Council, Blues never came close to selling out every week, even when they were decent in the PL. West Ham on the other hand, sell out Upton Park every home game.

coda
If the move is a success West Ham can be added to the ever-growing list of teams which have overtaken us.
KennyPowers
I'm not totally against legally screwing the Government out of money but the way those scumbags have managed it is quite astonishing. How much profit can they make out of selling West Ham in a few years time? Hundreds of millions? Astonishing.
TRS-T
Why don't they let Leyton Orient play there as well?

If, and its a Very big if they make a reletive success of this and they attract the crowds and become a club than will finish in the top ten, they will be the next club in line for a foreign takeover
villa4europe
the keeping, developing and pocketing the money from upton park and pocketing the money from a no doubt lucrative sponsorship deal make this an absolute piss take IMO they shouldnt be able to pocket a single penny from the deal until the £60m has been paid back
maqroll
Why don't they let Leyton Orient play there as well? Because they're West Ham, I'd imagine.

maqroll
Have I misread something...are West ham not moving to the OS? Edited March 22, 2013 by maqroll
TRS-T
Yeah but I think they are just renting it out. Should just let West Ham play there one week and Leyton Orient play there another (like Roma and Lazio, AC Milan and Inter Milan etc.)
AVFCforever1991
West Spam bring more money than Leyton Orient, and its more work if you have a team playing there every week, more upkeep. Edited March 22, 2013 by AVFCforever1991
KennyPowers
The renovation of the £600m stadium will cost approx £190m and West Ham have agreed to pay £15m plus £2m a year. The LLDC couldn't negotiate a better deal than that FFS. How many years have they been negotiating and that's the best deal they could get. West Ham will use the proceeds from the sale of their current ground to clear all of their debts. The whole thing stinks really. The other London clubs are surely fuming. maqroll
How many fans could Orient realistically expect to draw to the OS? 15K? If I was them, I wouldn't want to move there.
