The_Rev
This is the official web page by the way: http://mars.jpl.nasa.gov/msl/ Catchy URL, isnt it? I think the curiosity has almost finished doing diagnostics now and we might see it move this weekend. I still think it's kinda ridiculous that we are going to be driving a car around on Mars. GaztonVilla
I still think it's kinda ridiculous that we are going to be driving a car around on Mars. This is the bit that blows my mind the most about Curiosity.. Yes, the science of getting to Mars is undoubtedly impressive but the scientific advances we've made recently have kind of desensitised me to that. I'm just stunned that there is a person sitting in a room in NASA using a Playstation controller to drive the thing around Mars.

The_Rev
Has this robot done anything of note on Mars yet? Nothing headline making, it has mostly been performing diagnostics since it landed. It doesnt have a ton of storage on board so its had to uninstall all of the programs it needed for travel and landing and install the stuff it is going to use for exploring. It drove for the first time the other day, but this is a two year mission so NASA are taking their time with it.
